Paying close attention to SOA's array of outlaws makes the series an even more richly detailed portrait of self-righteous villainy.

Kurt Sutter's epic tale of an outlaw California motorcycle club launches its fifth season Tuesday with the same visceral intensity that stamped season four.

If you're not meant to think too hard about what's happening, then "Sons" largely succeeds at its goals, particularly given the performances, the direction (led by Emmy winner Paris Barclay) and Sutter and his writers' talent for crafting gut-wrenching individual moments.
  4. It's weird that in the show's fifth season, the stakes actually feel lower than they did a couple of years ago.

  1. The season five premiere of SOA was, to say the least, AMAZING. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. This promises to be the best season to date. Expand

Definitely a good watch. Definitely a good watch. Definitely a good watch. Definitely a good watch. Definitely a good watch. Definitely a good watch.
  3. I had to give this a few episodes to give my opinion on it. So far, as of the premiere it wasnt as good as previous seasons, but then it got progressively better, and the 3rd episodes was excellent, sad and shocking, but excellent. Kurt Sutter never ceases to amaze me with SOA. This show is so great, it does what most other shows dont have the guts to do, kill fan favorite characters continously and it still shocks you when it happens again! SOA is just pure genius, maybe not the whole time but overally the show is genius and great entertainment, cheers to a great season! 7.5/10 Expand
  4. Son's of Anarchy has strayed from narrative substance and rich character development it built over the first 3 seasons. The characters are almost impossible to identify with, as the level of self-destructive tenancies leave the viewer to believe SAMCRO as the most amateur of criminal organisations. Bring back intelligent character driven resolution instead of the reactionary lowest common denominators the viewers are no subjected to. Respect for your viewers will keep them riding with SOA a little bit longer; however at this pace, this season will be my last. Expand
