Strictly Come Dancing is a celebrity dancing extravaganza, complete with the elegance and glamour of ballroom dancing, the glitz and show stopping moves of the Latin dances.
Currently in its sixth season, Strictly Come Dancing has become a ratings success with over twelve million viewers tuning in every Saturday night.
Hosted by the legend that is Bruce Forsyth, and the lovely Tess Daly, a group of celebrities are coupled with internationally renowned professional ballroom and Latin dancers who aim to teach them to dance both disciplines over the course of the series.
Each Saturday night, in front of a live studio audience and the watchful eye of the judging panel – Craig Revel Horwood, Arlene Phillips, Bruno Tonioli and head judge Len Goodman, and the voting public, the couples have to then show off their dancing skills by performing their routine to the sound of a live band.
Once the judges have given their criticism or praise and marked the performance out of ten, the vote is passed over to the viewers whose phone in scores are then added to the judges to decide which couples will be in the bottom two.
In the first four series, the couple with the lowest votes was automatically eliminated, but the format changed for series five. The couples performed again in a dance off so that the judges could decide which of the two deserved to stay in the competition.
Packed full of superb dancing, fantastic live music and more talent than you can shake a stick at, it is a show that cannot be missed.
