    While the acting is still top notch, the writing leaves quite a lot to be desired. Characters are almost ruined in this third season. Character development is reversed, and that's never a good thing.

    As much as I enjoyed watching the previous seasons and looked forward to new episodes every week, this season has been a chore to watch. It is no longer a sincere portrayal of a woman facing cancer, but rather a soap box for the writers to express social criticisms (for example, the show's take on Christianity is decidedly negative and insulting). Characters are put in bizarre, unrealistic situations and we are meant to interpret this to be compelling tv. I was on Cathy's side during past seasons, but now her actions are outlandish and unrelatable. I want Marlene back.… Expand

    With this season's allotment of episodes at a premium (10, down from the previous seasons' 13), it's a shame The Big C doesn't make the most of each one of them.
