A show that again shows us what we already know. Politicians are a collective group of crooks who very seldom get what they deserve.

Creepy on almost every level.... Trina would be the ostensible star of the show if Edwin (also an ex-con) wasn’t so much more interesting.

While Louisianians might feel compelled to tune in just to see what's been going on with Edwards, A&E might want to start looking for their return receipt for this Louisiana purchase.

American television, while not quite as efficient [as waste recyclers in Mumbai shantytowns], also has a rather impressive way of recycling dirt. The Governor’s Wife, a new reality series starting Sunday on A&E, is a case in point.

Louisiana no longer celebrates the entertaining crookedness of its politicians. By trying to build a reality show on the dead ground of a discredited mythology, A&E has combined the worst of both worlds.

I hate reality shows! But, "The Governor's Wife" has made itself an exception. I have no idea of how "real" these people actually are, but the impression is that they are all playing a little game of tongue in cheek. The Governor is very likable. Even the young wife is likable. The two older daughters seem a bit faked but they are funny and likable.

Overall, not an earth-shaking show, but a reality show with almost no nastiness and no phony conflict. These people seem to be having fun.
