Season 4 was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. I was in shock at how incredible the ending was. 2 amazing characters, brilliant ending, I will be praying there will be another season.
The fourth season is the best season of this show. It was so gripping I watched all 6 episodes in a row. As someone here said it's mystery drama at its finest!
Even in its tense, involving conclusion, the final season of The Killing conjures nothing so much as a more compact recitation of its mundane pessimism, still incapable of shaking the humdrum drama and redundant thrills that forced the series to find a new home in the first place.
Despite flashes of what initially made the Danish adaptation so intriguing, this stretch drive can’t escape the feeling of a show ready to be put out of its misery.
Please ignore the critics' reviews. After reading some of them, Netflix apparently only released the first four episodes for early-screening which most, if not all, of the early reviews are based on just those first four episodes. I could see why if you only had access to those episodes it might be disappointing.
However, the concluding last 2 episodes of season 4 were absolutely fantastic and the show could not have ended on a better note. I thought the pacing was good, it was wonderfully acted, and the story-line was much tighter due to having only 6 episodes.
I am so sad to see this show come to an end. Season 4 was so well done. The quality of the writing was exceptional and Linden and Holder characters and dialogue were so rich and enjoyable.
Painful to behold. I slogged through to the end partly out of a sense of obligation, partly out of morbid curiosity (about how bad the series could get--not about the plot). Well, it got very bad. The final episode may have been rock bottom in my recent television-viewing experience. I had to spend the whole next day watching Nicholas Ray noir to get rid of the bad taste.
Loved the first 3 seasons but I am part way through the 4th and if it where a phone call I'd hang up. Seems Sarah has lost her good sense. She is trying to get away with something (don't want to spoil it) but has forgotten about technology and something as basic as finger prints. I will force myself to watch the rest but am extremely disappointed thus far.
I thought it was as so-so as the previous season. The final episode poorly wraps up a once promising story line in a disappointing way and the series itself ends on a rather disappointing low note. Shame to see a great premise get wasted on something so poorly executed.
