A terrific, six-hour miniseries, beautifully written and sharply directed.
  2. 75
    Bizarrely complicated and intriguing.
  3. 70
And while the quest story has the inevitable whiff of The Lord of the Rings about it... the episodes almost feel more like sci-fi Hitchcock than anything else.
  4. "The Lost Room" is certainly a more creative exercise than past Sci Fi miniseries (including "The Triangle"), but it sometimes feels rushed.
  5. It's a supernatural mystery, involving a few ghosts, a little time travel and lots of crazy people. People who have been missing The X-Files might really go for The Lost Room.
  6. Maybe the best thing about this miniseries is the weird assortment of characters.
  7. While it's not totally painful, it's so hopelessly incoherent that you'll probably get a headache or two if you actually stick with it for the full three days and six hours.

One of the best written and most innovative pieces of science fiction I have ever seen. I can't say more than that without giving stuff away. You really just have to see it for yourself. I was more than impressed. Expand

The best movie/mini series I have seen in a long time. Its funny that I read critical reviews from writers but all the comments Ive seen online and people Ive talked to have been very positive. A series that leaves you guessing about its very premise and wanting to know more, very good concept. Expand

I was going to give it 30 min. before I started a DVD. Now, I'm wanting more. This is the best script I've seen on the Sci-Fi network. Simplicity without the usual "dumbing down" on Sci-Fi. A story that seems a perfect fit for the 6 hour mini format. Excellent casting (nice to see Dennis Christopher used well). I'm loving it and hope this bodes well for future Sci-Fi. Expand

It felt like something Neil Gaiman could have written. I loved it. It was imaginative and well acted.

I love Peter Krause, but what was he thinking. This tries to be different and daring, but gives up on the most important things....good writing and character development. There are no two good scenes that blend in this story....very sloppy. Expand
