  • Summary: The 'Pride Of Route 8' Comes To TV -At the age of 14, Marty Stuart was touring with Flatt and Scruggs; At 22, he was a member of Johnny Cash's band, and had released a solo album of Bluegrass-music; In the 90s, he won 4 Grammy┬« awards, and produced a string of top-10 Country hits, including Hillbilly Rock, Little Things, Burn Me Down, and his collaborations with Travis Tritt: This One's Gonna Hurt You, and The Whiskey Ain't Workin', both of which, were his own compositions. There was no doubt that Stuart had made his mark on the Country Music world, when, in 2008, he decided to give TV a shot, with The Marty Stuart Show. Produced by Stuart, himself, in a styIe very much like The Wilburn Brothers Show and The Porter Wagoner Show, this half-hour program premiered on the RFD TV Network on November 1st, 2008, and features performances by Stuart, his wife - Connie Smith, banjoist, and country funny man Leroy Troy, Marty's Band - The Fabulous Superlatives, and weekly guest appearances by such Country luminaries as Mel Tillis, Little Jimmy Dickens, Earl Scruggs, John Anderson, Charley Pride, and Charlie Daniels.Currently airing twice weekly, on RFD, this very laid-back production appeals to a wide range of Country fans, with a definite slant toward the Mountain/Bluegrass styIe of music.
