There's nothing wrong with TV Land trying to revive the old-school, multi-camera sitcom but the pilot for this show wouldn't have cut it in the 1980s.

It is done carelessly. A preacher is a human being, no doubt, but he is someone who fights all temptations such as anger, and attraction to worldly things, especially those that are fought by any Christian in everyday life, leave alone a preacher. Besides, the language used by the "preacher" and even his father, who is supposed to be a retired preacher, is very unrefined. It is more like street language. No Christian preacher would call someone "dog" or "say what the hell" etc. No preacher will rejoice in a trip to Las Vegas.. It is just done with very little attention to details. Whatever happened to clean, meaningful and sophisticated shows like Seventh Heaven, Little House on the Prairies, and Bill Cosby? Full Review »
