  • Starring: Patrick Warburton, Christopher McCulloch, Michael Sinterniklaas
  • Summary: Hank and Dean Venture, with their father Doctor Venture and faithful bodyguard Brock Samson, go on wild adventures facing megalomaniacs, zombies, and suspicious ninjas, all for the glory of adventure. Or something like that.

Hank and Dean Venture are relatively identical twins, only born
six minutes apart, who live for the thrill of adventure. Their dated vocabulary and high-pitched voices are intentionally annoying, especially to their father, Doctor Venture, a boy genius turned mediocre scientist who hates everything about his life.

In the midst of this conflict is Brock Samson, a man of swift neck-breaking action. Preferring to resort to his brawn instead of his brain, Brock is simple but effective, and does a better job at taking care of the kids than Doctor Venture, as long as they leave his treasured Dodge Charger alone.

The Venture Brothers is a take off of Johnny Quest and the Hardy Boys.

Awesome animated series. Smartly funny, slightly nerdy. A parody of Johnny Quest methinks.

This show is unreal. By far the best animated series since the early years of The Simpsons. The writing is nothing short of amazing. Clever turns of phrase and dialogue, witty visual gags, and great continuity. 10/10, hands-down. Expand

This is perhaps on of the most original animated series in the last 40 years. It is excellently written. The voice cast is second to none. Even on Adult Swim, where it has plenty of company, it still sets itself apart from crowd. It's not a kids show, and it's not even playing the same sport Family Guy, The Simpsons or South Park play, yet it is worthy to share the field with any of them. The Venture Brothers is only one of a few bright lights on TV that is virtually devoid of creativity and heart. It Collapse

Great show for the nerds in the house. The first season can be a little sparse. The creators really hit their stride in the second season. But the characters are great, and the entire show is a wealth of nerdy pop culture references. Super funny. Expand

Venture Brothers is hilarious. You may have to stop watching it for lacking breath since there are hysterically amusing displays which encourage you to roll on the floor. The occurrences of the brothers, usually meddling with their father's inventions are a pillar of what the episodes involve. Of course their father has a few enemies and to keep himself protected he has this goddamned barbaric man for a bodyguard. It seems that many users are comparing The Venture Brothers to Family Guy or The Simpsons, but the similarities are dim. Expand

Be prepared for a throwback with The Venture Brothers. It pays homage to all young "boy adventurer" shows of the 1960s and 1970s, and even contains a few references to other pop culture as well. The story follows the life of Dr. Thaddius "Rusty" Venture, his two sons, Hank and Dean, and their bodyguard, Brock Sampson. In what is a essentially a long story about the harshness of reality, the overall plot shows how the Venture family combats their over-the-top villains, deal with the unusual nature of super science, and live out their bleak lives with a sense of "normalcy". The show is going into its fifth season, and shows no sign of stopping anytime soon. I would recommend this show to anyone, but the episodes do fall flat in deliverance of their jokes sometimes. Overall, great, but not perfect. Expand
