The premise is a neat riff on immigration and fitting in, but the jokes are a bit conventional for a show that looks so pleasantly odd.

The show's dry humor, mixed with a rather troubling visual style where everything is stiff and vaguely deformed, mostly just makes you feel uneasy.

Ugly Americans is just crude and vulgar. It's not funny. It's lame. Really lame. It's not just that it's inappropriate for children, it's inappropriate for everyone. Well, everyone with an IQ in double digits. It's terrible.

Its rare i see a oddball universe style show that I actually enjoy. A show with oddities and a straight man who isn't a complete outcast but seems to fit in as well in his own weird way. Best of luck to the creators and I hope it catches on globally. Expand

I neither love nor hate this, hence my vote of 5. Yes, it occasionally -- but only occasionally -- has some interesting visuals but I don9;t find the characters particularly memorable, with the possible exception of the wizard. It all strikes me as a VERY watered-down version of the much better "Superjail!" on [adult swim] (made by the same folks), something which Comedy Central would likely be far too timid to air. Expand

Occasionally funny, but, like so much of Comedy Central's content, it relies heavily on the gross-out factor and is as soulless as it39;s many infernal characters. If the creators thought this would be an insightful parable about multiculturalism, they should think again. Expand
