Funny, fearless, down to earth and informative, Monaghan makes a great host and guide and gives us a new respect and appreciation for nature's wild things--from a very safe distance.

Travel shows have been done and done again, and it's hard to find one that breaks new ground. The most important element is usually not the scenery but the host, and BBC America found a great one in the British actor Dominic Monaghan.

Although the nature documentary elements are the focus, the added color of travel show features as well, as the general feeling of spontaneity (however carefully cultivated) adds a peculiar appeal to the package.

  1. The show is great. Dominic is an amazing host. He is charming, funny, and fearless. He definitely makes the show. I definitely recommend. I loved him in lost and thought I should just check it out, and I watched all the episodes within 2 days (8 episodes an hour each) Full Review »
