Yes, the graphics are not fantastic, but once you get about an hour in you really don't notice unless you're being too critical about it, and a game this fun doesn't need good graphics, they are perfectly sufficient.
I love the mechanics of the gameplay. the sword-fighting/gun-firing/slow-mo/acrobatic action. there are a lot of dynamic abilities that work extremely well and feel rewarding when you do them. Free-running plays a massvie aspect in this game, not like in Brink when you never use it. The only game better than this in free running is Mirror's Edge. There are so many moves in this game: The Vertical Wall Run, Dive, Jump, Slide, Along-Wall Run, Wall Run Turn Jump, Jump at wall - jump off wall, wallrun up people, zipline, swing on poles, wallrun round corners. And you can shoot any weapon while doing any of these moves, in slow motion!!!! some more: slide backwards down ladders, Wall run flip, wall run jump. also, you can chain together moves to get more points!
Seriously, this game is amazing, it has its issues such as some areas which can be frustrating to complete (The Skydive section, getting golds on some challenges, some rage sections are difficult) but to be honest once you complete the harder parts it's more rewarding and I've never actually rage quitted this game like I have others. Other faults include that sometimes Rubi doesn't grab onto stuff and you fall to your death, but this is a very rare occasion, maybe like once a level at most, but this happened to me alllllll the time in mirror's edge so no one can complain. Lastly, it feels slightly un-polished in some ways, like just a bit more work here and there and it would be truly outstanding. The music and the grainy film effect don't really do anything for me but its cool to be unique.
This game has everything else you want from a game as well, collectables, challenges, upgrades, Points scores, various level types (Rage, Action/Adventure, "Dodging" sections (there are 2 levels where you jump from car to car and shoot guys and another where you are skydiving), Arena levels, Quick Time Scenes, Shooting Gallery Scenes, Training Levels), also you get new guns as you play-through, the achievements are quite easy but you still need to work to get them (most games have 2 or 3 achievements that are impossible to 99% of people, and most games I have barely 50% of the achievements because they might be multiplayer or just really annoying to get).
In conclusion I highly recommend this game. Play it with a light-hearted attitude. I don't really pay much attention to the story, I usually stick on the Yog-Pod while playing and have a laugh at that while I'm massacring dozens of helpless bodyguards with my duel shotguns mid air doing a back flip after jumping off some man's face in slow motion.
Just buy the damn thing, its tonnes of fun and it;s like £5 quid now so its not exactly a massive expense!… Expand

It is amazing, the guns are exciting, the powers are new and innovative, the storyline has a gripping hold on you as you're thrown around the room being twisted from all the plot devices. You have a beautiful companion who aids you in your adventures. Even the enemies are fun. Buy this game, it is fantastic, you won't have wasted your money, it's one of the few games that's actually worth the £40.
I can't help thinking Bioshock 1 was better though. still deserves a strong 10 nonetheless… Expand

At first, I noticed, the graphics seemed slightly off, everything feels a bit fuzzy and everything is too bright. Like the boots when you hover, or the combuster's bullets, they seem to ablaze the screen with white light whenever you use them. Besides this everthing...is perfect.
I love the tower defence aspect; having to constantly keep an eye on your base and set up defences I did think at one point that I could just defend the base without buying any defences, but its gets much harder later on, with bosses coming to attack you.
In between defending your HQ, you have to go out into the world and do some good ol' fashioned classic ratchet and clank style action, killing foes with awesome guns, collecting bolts, finding secrets, (gold bolts). There are skill points, weapon upgrades and lots more. One thing which I do rather dislike, is how all the guns are free, although the gun pods are defended, the enemies aren't all that difficult to kill and you get a free gun. In my opinion I reckon they should revert back to having the classic style vendors and place them in the HQ. Although if they did that then you would barely need to go outside of your base, (except to do teh objective).
I also like the ranks, they don't give you anything more than a sense of achievement, but that's enough for me The game is a little bit shorter than more Ratchet and Clank games, but it has a very good replay value, because you can go back and do every level again and try to complete challenges such as time limits and trying to keep you base completely intact. In my experience, at first I wasn't impressed, but halfway through the first level I was hooked, back in my Ratchet and Clank zone.
Just a few more things: Clank doesn't do pretty much anything in this game. The Pyro Blaster is totally Over-powered. Enemies need to drop more bolts and defences need to be more expensive, (I usually never have more than 15k bolts)
This game deserves a 9 because despite its rather annoying flaws, its incredibly fun, definitely worth the 15 quid. and for anyway, quite addictive. Maybe a 9 is too generous though, if I could, I'd give it and 8.5/10. All in all, very fun. Go buy it, now!… Expand

There is a huge sense of art and culture in the game, giving off the impression than its more than just a hollow shooter. You meet fantastically original characters each with their own perspective on the city. And city itself, it grows on you and you begin to realise the true tragedy of how such a perfect paradise, crumbled into chaos and destruction. This game is a must play, 11/10. My favourite game of all time.
Bioshock 2 is a good game, not quite as influential and impressive as the first one, but still has a huge dose of fear, blood, and a huge shooting experience. There are newer, harder enemies and increasingly innovative levels. 9.5/10. Awesome game.
I haven't played the DLC but i can tell you it is part of Bioshock 2 so assuming it has similar gameplay i'am going to assume the DLC itself is also amazing.

Like, why would the ending creditsGran Turismo 5 is an odd game to sum up, mainly because there are some things that don't really make sense. Like, why would the ending credits play only on the third out of five championships, surely, it would make more sense, if you completed all the races before you completed the game. Also, I don't get why some cars are premium and they look fantastic whereas most of the cars are standard, and to be honest, despite the high resolution, the standard cars a rather blocky and un-detailed. It would have been much better and easier if the game developers took a bit more time to make all the cars to the premium standard. Furthermore, the menu on GT4 was far more innovative and it was kind of fun just navigating it, the new menu on GT5 is a basic one faced menu with several static boring square which you can move over to. I preferred the second hand shops on GT4; it was easier to find what you wanted, whereas in GT5 you just sort of have to look and buy what you can, and most of the time it's not what you want. There are some races which require a specific type of car, and these can be frustrating to get hold of, becoming a hindrance to game progress. As always the licence tests are hard but possible, albeit challenging. getting a gold or silver even isn't too hard, but it can take a dozen attempts to get gold sometimes. One thing that would improve the game is that every few months or so a free update should come out with a hundreds or so new cars in it, just to keep the game a bit more new and interesting; its boring buying the same old premium cars. The last thing I have a problem with in GT5 is the online; it takes forever to join a lobby and when you finally get in one, you might find it's rubbish, (which 99% of lobbys are) which means you then need to spend ages leaving and ages finding and rejoining another. Despite these large but rather forgiveable problems the game has great driving physics and some of the cars are to and amazing standard of quality. the level of customization is good, but there should be a much wider range of parts available, as there is only one option for each part, for example if you want a Limited slip differential, there is only one you can choose to purchase. I'm just suggesting things now but there should also be tiers of tuning upgrades, so when you have purchased a certain quantity of tier 1 parts, a whole new set of tier 2 parts become available so that you can optimize your car further, these parts should cost considerably more and make smaller changes in the performance. Finally, the racing is fun and you may be wondering why I gave it an 8 even though I've said so much negative stuff. Well even though it fails a lot in many ways the gameplay itself is fun and you can go for hours racing and winning cars, spending money on them and entering more races and gradually working your way up the ladder. I found that theres a wall around the 400,000 credits mark where its hard to get much richer, as I always get this amount, then get bored of not doing anything, so I blow it on a new Ferrari or a new tuning car. The custom track maker is the most disappointing part, I went on it expecting being able to draw a specific circuit I had in mind, but instead, it gives you a randomised course which you can slightly alter using options such as length, corner sharpness, track width, track camber, and more boring stuff. You normally end up with a circuit which is nothing like any other real race course and the environment is very plain. what makes this games rating so high is the number of cars, the quality of the graphics, but mainly the amazing driving physics and because it's fun to play. Too bad there are so many problems with it though.
Nowadays you can pick it up cheap, so if you haven't done so already get it, it's well worth the buy, one of the best racing games available, but done get your hopes too high if you think they're going to improve on GT4… Expand
Average User Score: 7.1Jun 24, 2012This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Game was brilliant. The graphics were great, (not amazing) but great. The campaign is really fun and it is fairly scary, (not very). The very last level is the scariest level, (when you being chased by that invisible ghost monster thing that you can't kill) and you have to destroy the memories of your past before the invisible scary monster thing kills you. Only thing bad is that I sort of lost the plot on the bridge level. I loved how difficult the game was in some parts, and easy in others, it gives it a nice challenge. Two parts I found hard were the bit where your in a back garden and theres a robot with a rocket launcher, while other guys are shooting at you, and there's a REALLY hard bit when two of the teleporting guys drop in from the ceiling at the same time. They have loads and loads of hit points and they have these really powerful automatic guns that shoot high calibre incendiary bullets. A few of these shots kill you quickly. Also, these guys can teleport into, and out of walls, which makes 2 of them hard to kill. Hint: Pick up a riot shield on that bit or you'll just get slaughtered.
But yeah, that game is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed playing through it… Expand

Also the sensitivity is incredibly slow, so it takes a good few seconds to turn a full 360 degrees. The game play is fun, the guns are cool, and the enemies are fairly challenging.
But... As I said the graphics are quite bad and the game doesn't feel right when you play it, like it needs to be tweaked in a certain way. It is a good game but something about the game play just ruins it, so i give it a 6. 5 would have been mean because the game is good and it is fun...but something just isn't right about it.… Expand

I hate how it tries to impress you with the really high quality cut scenesThe graphics are kinda good for it's time, although not amazing. I hate how it tries to impress you with the really high quality cut scenes when the actually game play is not nearly as good quality. The shouting physics are good, but it's annoying how the snipers are really weak. I know it adds to the realism and that's a good thing but I don't like how you can't tell whether your actually hitting someone or not, (there are no cross-hairs like in COD). Aside form the negatives, the game play is fun and inciting. And the again the shooting physics are really well done, with a good realistic amount of kick-back and range of the weapons. The trophies available in the game are easy to achieve, but they take a while, which is nice, because most games have really hard to get trophies which makes the platinum seem impossible to acquire. The campaign is better than that in most FPS shooters, it has a great fell to it and it puts you right in the action. The multilayer is is also very fun and easy to get used to. The thing with the classes I don't like but aside form that, it's easy to rack up kills and rank up.
So there are many good things about the game and not much to go wrong. I rated 8 because I felt would be a bit generous. Well worth the buy, (nowadays you can pick up a copy for like £10) so if you don't own it already then i highly recommend you buy it, Good game.… Expand

The only thing i dont like is that in MW2, veteran mode is very hard, but still easy for an experienced player, but in MW3, veteran mode is nigh impossible, i'm not saying you can't complete it, you can, i have, but you only need to get shot once or twice to die, which is more incredibly annoying than fun. Online is the same as always, long, fun and progressive, but it is sort of the same as MW2 online, (except for the maps). Survivor mode is the highlight of the game for me, what is more fun than mowing down hundreds of enemies. On a map like resistance its quite a calm level where you just have fun killing people, (until wave 26 when you get like 3 juggernauts, 2 helicopters a ton of attack dogs and suicide bombers as well as the normal guys who are heavily armoured anyway). but on a map like lock down, you need to be on your toes as the enemies get harder quicker. Survivor mode is great fun and every map is great.
Special ops aren't as good as they were in MW2 but they are still good, i particularly like the stealth ones. but some missions are just a bit to hard and get annoying when you keep on dying, but still, the special are good.
