Star Wars was either going to just fade away like a celebrity that had seen better days yet trying to hang on to former glories or it was going to find its pulse again and reignite young and old into the Star Wars universe. Find its pulse, it certainly done.
The adventure, humour, romance that George Lucas introduced the world too back in 1977 makes a triumphant return. The way we fell in love with the original cast, the new cast has that allure too. For sure it is sentimental to the older generation (something that Lucas discarded in 1,2 & 3) All generations were catered fir here and in particular one small droid called BB-8. It also offers the non star wars fans a route into the story.
Was it worth the wait. Certainly and as a big Star Wars fan that felt let down by Lucas with 1,2 & 3 I say that with great delight and relief. Witness the movie for yourself and enjoy.… Expand

Hanks and Thompson give sterling performances as Disney and PL Travers respectively. The chase of Disney for the script of Mary Poppins and Travers reluctance to sell a story that holds a deep sentiment has a lasting effect and shows what grief and heartbreak can be behind any story, especially those ones that have been transformed into a story that contains magic of the soul. Saving Mr Banks is a worthy movie to bring the world of Mary Poppins alive again.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.3Jan 6, 2014American Hustle continues the rich vain of form that the movie industry has produced over the last couple of years. David O. Russell onceAmerican Hustle continues the rich vain of form that the movie industry has produced over the last couple of years. David O. Russell once again weaves his magic as director in this big cast crime/comedy. Carrying on his fine form from Silver Linings Playbook. It's also a movie that proves big cast names can produce screen chemistry for the ages. The Bale/Cooper character interaction is on par with Newman/Redford or De Niro/Pacino. Amy Adams gave a performance that will no doubt bring a host of accolades and Jennifer Lawrence continues her high standards that like Adams will have accolades coming her way.
The movie itself hooks you from the off and takes you the audience straight into participation of what is going on. Who is conning who leaves you engrossed. The Sting meets Donnie Brasco springs to mind without going into the movie plot too much and spoiling a very pleasurable movie that needs to be seen without too much talking. All in all American Hustle sets a very high standard for forthcoming movies of 2014 to live up too.… Expand

It is the movie that has confirmed the renaissance in movie making. A healthy story line that is complemented by strong relationships between the characters is captivating from start to finish. Hugh Jackmans performance as Jean Valjean is exceptional and leaving me for one captivated along with many other performances. Anne Hathaway had me casting her as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady as I just admired her performance a performance to me that Hollywood has longed for. Even Russell Crowe had you warming to him in the end and surprised me in the way he gave such a Steller performance. Les Miserables is an epic in all sense of the word. For such a movie to be vying for attention with the likes of Argo, Django Unchained, Lincoln etc is a compliment in itself and the choice of using song as the narrative was maybe daring but certainly genius. Could the movie been made any more better. Personally the answer is no and the reason why I give this film such a high score.… Expand
