It's actually a pretty good timekiller and with a friend, this game can be a real blast. However, this game does suffer some serious faults. First of all, there's not really any campaign to go through. You've basically got this map of China where you have to dominate the other factions in the area. Sounds fun enough, right? It is to some extent but over time, it just feels like you're fighting the same battle over and over and over. In addition to that, you'll begin feeling like there's hardly much of a map to play with. China begins to feel pretty small which is funny considering how big it actually is. Anyway, it's not really what I'd call a good game but you can definitely kill time with it if you're with a friend.… Expand

I've rarely owned the current year's basketball game and don't rarely play them for hours on end. That being said, I really liked this game. It has the right balance of challenge and ease with the game hardly being too easy or too hard at the right difficulty. There's a lot of depth for players who are willing to really dig deep into all the analog usage (if you thought 2k14 had tried to force the use of the right analog in previous NBA 2k games, wait 'til you play this game). My favorite game mode was association as you get to control the whole team and are able to tweak it to your liking off court. I LOVE the ability to give and take away minutes from players in order to give the players you want just the right amount of minutes without keeping your bench from having some minutes. Anyways, there were some cons to the game. I felt that the MyCareer mode could have been made a tiny bit easier. I mean, it's great that it's realistically difficult but due to the fact that you don't have control over the other players, it can be tough to rack up points or stats of any sort some times. That may just be me. All in all, it's an amazing game! I'd definitely recommend buying it.… Expand

It's one of those movie-esque games (not to be confused with movie license games....Those things are that really engages you with its plot. Anyway, to get to the point, here is what I really enjoyed about Alan Wake:
-An amazing story that's complicated and mature
-Mostly interesting characters (granted, there are exceptions to this).
-A unique combat system with the flash light, flares and guns.
-Some down right amazing environments.
-A superb soundtrack with Poets of the Fall being one of the featured artists.
Now here are my cons:
-Some pretty bad lip syncing and character models. I think the characters had a lot of potential to look good but it just didn't really work out.
-Extremely repetitive gameplay. I mean, you'll basically be running through levels trying to not get killed by the same enemies over and over. Fun for a while but it does get old...
-A pretty confusing ending… Expand

-Top quality voice acting & character animations
-High quality story
-Great combat (if you use it right. You can either just go in guns blazing or try for more stealth-based combat. I opt for the latter which has made my gameplaying experience SO much better!)
-The best villain I've ever played against: Vaas.
-An open, lush environment
-A pretty cool RPG-esque level up system.
Now, you may have heard this game is Skyrim with guns. As awesome as the game is, it'd be a lie to say that it's anything like the Elder Scrolls. NPC interaction is pretty limited, sidequests are really basic and you don't level up in nearly as much detail as Skyrim. That being said, I still loved the game. Buy it now!… Expand

Actually playing the game changed everything and after a while, I even began to like the art style Gearbox chose. There's so much good things you can say about this game. The multiplayer is damn near unparalleled with the online co-op being one of the best that I've played thus far. There's A TON of guns. That's been a major selling point for the franchise for a long time.
As far as gameplay goes, the combat hasn't changed a whole bunch from the first game with the same ol' "shoot 'em up" mentality in place. That's not necessarily a bad thing because the first game was really good. I just thought that was worth noting.
One thing that was changed was the presence of the story within the game. The first game didn't have a really compelling story and at first, you may have felt it was absent all together. Borderlands 2 includes a story with a pretty impressive villain (Handsome Jack). While it's hardly "Last of Us" status, it'll keep you going.
All in all, I loved the game. I'd highly recommend playing it. Also, don't forget to play online!!! I can't stress that enough. Playing with your friend through the campaign is a blast.… Expand

The storyline is incredible and with all you do in the game, you feel like most things you do actually make an impact on the game. People can live or die based on what you do! So with that mindset, I'd give the game a 10/10. That being said, I felt certain aspects of the game could have been tweaked. I think the voice acting was pretty hit and miss. Same with the character models (I think Madison was the best and Ethan was probably the worst to be fair). Last thing that could be ragged on (but I don't necessarily hate) is that there's not a whole lot of actual gameplay. The game's essentially a game long quick time event. So, if you hate the whole quick time even thing (and using your analog because you'll be using that in ways you never imagined) then this game may not be for you.… Expand

A lot of folks have panned this game as disappointing or just bad in general. Despite all this, I bought the game because, hey, it was only $9.99 at my gamestop. Going in with the aforementioned mindset, I was actually really surprised at how good this game is. The combat against the zombies is pretty fun and engaging with the zombies leveling up with you. That keeps things fresh and challenging (though you can still kick some serious ass!) The limited stamina was a bit frustrating but at the same time, it added tension to gameplay. You couldn't just sprint around or take on a hundred zombies at a time. Aside from that, rpg-esque elements were relatively solid and multiplayer online with friends is fantastic. My major grips with the game were the fact you don't really get a clear idea of when you are saving, some bugs throughout the game, a pretty bad map and a pretty meh story. Last thing to note: Don't buy this game if you're going in for scares. It's not that kind of game. :P… Expand
