XLGames and Trion has turned that on it's head with ArcheAge as a well done game overflowing with engaging features and gameplay floundering due to frustrating and even unethical monitization of the content, abysmal customer support and communication, and totally inept handling of goldselling spam and rampent cheating and exploiting.
While not required to play the game, land ownership is a huge part of gaining access to many gameplay features. Trion ignored numerous warnings during testing that scarceness of available land and exploitative land hording would be huge problems in release.
Obscene economy inflation, anemic loot drop rates and labor point generation, and demoralizing RNG failures at every turn are sucking the soul out of this game for the few diehard founders pack players that remain.

The Civ V AI leaders have been psychotic from the beginning with dumbed down conditions which cause them to stay forever friendly, attack for no apparent reason or otherwise seem idiotic compared to past Civ games.
2K games participation with Valve in bilking preorder customers by putting the game on sale at a substantially reduced price immediately after release is shameful. Their further thowing old Civ IV copies at those unhappy is insulting.
The glory days of a once great franchise seem to be over replaced by laziness and greed.… Expand
