Average User Score: 6.8Jun 22, 2013A show about a loser who becomes enlightened and keeps losing at life. Season 1 is great if you want to watch someone fail. And fail. And fail. And then fail.
Season 2 is very good. Skip this one. Go watch that one instead.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.5Jun 22, 2013I watched season 1 and was very turned off by it. Sure, there were good performances and a couple of excellent episodes, but I felt completely disconnected from the main character. I only returned to the show for a second season because I had intended on mocking it for fun. But then something happened. The writers toned down the "life is fail" elements from season 1 and focused more on making the lead a real person who doesn't just make big mistakes while THINKING she's doing the right thing.

Sure, there is weird stuff in this show. Hell, there is some really weird stuff in this show. But because we actually care about the characters and because every performance is so solid, we believe in the world even when things get goofy. Great story telling makes suspension of disbelief easier. Great performances along with great story telling make all problem areas disappear. You are just along for the ride and willing to go wherever the writers steer the show.
And then, obviously, there is Tatiana Maslany. If nothing anyone has said about the fantastic story telling moves you to check this show out, do it for the love of talent. She has so much of it.… Expand
