Average User Score: 7.9Mar 24, 2014(note this game is NOT a 10, but I must do what I can to offset the low critic score)
I am writing this review out of a sense of duty, because the poor staff at Mercury Steam have been the targets of an unfair games journalism attack. Clearly then, this is aimed at the reviewers who awarded this game 4/10 or less, which is CRIMINAL. It is , to me at least, unfathomable to call this game " clunky, ugly and deeply misguided" - EDGE MAGAZINE -F%$# you
Graphics - (Played on PC - PS3 page is most active) - played this game on an ancient pc (core2,9600gt) and it ran INCREDIBLY. High res texture pack, max res, lighting giving>50 fps all the time. Artstyle is stupendous, textures amazing. Graphics - 10/10
Sound - An amazing score of orchestral music, great sound effects for destruction and cutting of enemies. Vioce acting from the all star cast is spot on. Sounds 8.5/10
Gameplay - Great Combat system. Easy but satisfying platforming. Fun exploration after completing the game. A few tedious stealth sections early are a bit boring. (NOTE WELL: REVIEWERS - YES YOU EDGE -HAVE LIED ABOUT THE NATURE AND PROMINENCE OF THESE, RAGING ON THE GAME FOR "NUMEROUS STEALTH SECTIONS" THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE< THEY ARE NOT ENOUGH TO RUIN THE GAME) Gameplay 7.5/10
Story - A great story with a smart twist, strong characters and a truly tragic hero. I felt bad for the poor hand that was dealt to Gabriel. Story - 8/10
Longevity - A little on the short side, but has a new game plus, and some challenges which are quite hard. 7/10… Expand
Average User Score: 7.4Dec 6, 2013A truly great game. Improves the style of gameplay introduced by SC:C.
The game offers loads of single, coop and multiplayer content. The Stealth is a brand of fast paced quick movement stealth, not much like the earlier games, however it is a nice evolution of the gameplay and still feels plausible. You can even play the game gun blazing style, if you are very good.
Co-op missions are super fun, best gamepaly experience of this year, nothing more to say.
SvM is also great for a multiplayer mode.
Graphics are good in terms of detail and textures, but not so much in lighting. Game still looks good though.
Totally worth your money.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.9Oct 30, 2013Assassins creed IV is truly the best best game in the series. Improvements across the board make this game worth a purchase.
The map is huge, 3 large cities plus a huge open world to sail through and pillage islands.
Graphics are excellent, very best seen on the XBOX360. Animations are as great as any AC predecessor .
Gameplay is great, with better stealth, fun free running and cool sailing gameplay. Nice and varied.
The game lasts a very long time providing great value for your money.
(any allegations calling this "glorified DLC are utterly ridiculous and unsubstantiated this is the biggesty game in the series and brings the best evolution since 1 to 2. Don't listen to the haters)… Expand
Average User Score: 0.5Oct 21, 2013This game is a piece of trash, and the devs should be ashamed!! Terrible, terrible game. Worst animations, graphics, tons of bugs and just the worst use of the unreal engine 3 ever. How can you up an UE game, it practically does all the work for you… Expand

Story and world Fully developed and interesting!! Dunwall is like a tangible place in history. Interesting visual design and machines in the game (if maybe not enough of em). The story is average at best but gets the job done doesn't matter too me.
Gamplay The first game in YEARS to truly deliver on promises of gameplay choice! You can truly play your way. Assualt gameplay tends to be more favoured but it still plays as a great sneak em up title!! Interesting gadgets and unique powers not seen in other games! Climbing and movement is smooth as can be, blinking around is super badass. Possession and entry is fun. Slow time kill combos are epic.
Sound Great voice acting very good sound design. Music is a bit of a let down not enough variety, and what is there is boring at best. Some orchestral scores will go a long way.
Graphics Great looking 'oil painting style" never seen before. Textures range from average to mind blowing. Great lighting work. Character models are amazing. Animations are qualit and use of physics in the game on enemies and objects help sell the immersion.
Maps Maps are not very diverse, but all interesting filled with enemies side quests and fun to do and see. Mission types could use a little more variety!
Replay value I have played through three times and loved each time, simply fantastic
DLC The knife of dunwall is excellent DLC that adds 3 more missions to the game, with a second expansion on the way.

Average User Score: 4.2Jul 9, 2013In Reach of Greatness
The game has a great premise but the execution lets it down a little. Maybe because of the budget constraints.
All I see when I play the game is an awesome stealth RPG but sadly it never comes into fruition. Main issue is the lack of enough transversal options leaves you flatfooted or cornered very often. The general stealth gameplay is fun and the powers are useful. Use of powers is too clunky. Simple jump mantling is sorely missed. Would be great if you could move around the environment with the ease of say dishonored. Graphics are fine if unspectacular. Sound design is generally good. Voice acting is poor to avergage. Other than that the game is enjoyable, but it commits the cardinal sin of leaving you wanting much more, showing you it's potential but never realising it. The approach to stealth is great though.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.5Jun 15, 2013A Truly fantastic game. I think the professional reviewers have made another knee jerk reaction. Firstly, yes the platforming is quite bland. Everything else in this game is top notch though.
Music Brilliant orchestral scores highlight moments of discovery, pulsing beats power your fights.
Story The world, memory as a commodity, memory junkies and data attacks are are smart and creative and highly involving.
Combat Really much better than the reviewers say. Much stratergy involved. 2 major gripes enemies attack to relentlessly to allow long combos and attacking a second target breaks your combo why?
Platforming Mostly Meh
Graphics Truly excellent, pushes the unreal engine possibly further than BioShock Infinite at times.
Characters Multi faceted and human. You feel for them.
Had a hell of a time with this game!! Bring on a more expansive sequel… Expand
