In order to round up a greater audience for the game, they made the game as similar to any other game out there, mainly Halo.
RPG elements-removed, no-ammo-removed, planet exploration removed.
Mass Effect 1 wasn't a pure open world game, but hey, compared to Mass Effect 2 you could call it just as open as GTAs. I mean Mass Effect 2 is so linear, so that a monkey with a controller could complete this game on easy (you'd have to teach him to shoot and collect ammo if you'd want him to beat harder difficulties).
Don't get me wrong, the story is great and all, but the gameplay is awful at this point. The second time I played it I used mods to make it feel more like the first game.
Another annoyingly stupid thing is the DLCs. There are too many of them. Ok, maybe that's not the biggest problem point. They are to expensive for what they are. You wont get more than 2 hours of gameplay with each of them, but they sure cost like if they were at least 10 hours of gameplay. And the fact that the characters got released one by one after release, you had to replay the game over and over again, if you wanted to have the full experience with each of them. It's just frustrating, if you want to know every little bit of the story, which is the best part of the game.
Essentially, this game was a big disappointment for me, and didn't feel like a Mass Effect game, at least gameplay wise. The removal of all the best stuff from Mass Effect 1, was the worst part for me, that really hurt the franchise in my eyes.… Expand

It brought something fresh, something that's not generic, and it made me interested and invested in it. I mean, I have spent at least 60 hours trying to explore every little bit of the game, and there is much to explore. Even though the Mako controls might feel awkward at times, it's still much better to have those portions of the game, to explore the game world, visit the planets with it. It was quite intriguing just driving around various deserted planets, with the feeling that there's nothing here, and you're all alone, but then eventually finding something, like a probe, with information in it.
Another part of the gameplay I enjoyed was no ammo, but your guns could overheat. No longer I had to worry about how many bullets I spend, and then looking for more in random places, or where conveniently placed. Instead you would focus on how to time your shots so that you dont overheat your guns.
Best part of the game is probably the story and the choices you make. I was never into Sci-Fi much, but this game made it work for me. The character interactions, the dialog options, many choices, all made me like the game more and more.
One part that could have been done better is upgrade management..there were just too many of them, and my inventory got full quite often. Managing your own upgrades, plus your squad mates upgrades, took too much time. Then again, you do have the choice of not even bothering with it.
I can't recommend this game enough, it is very very good.… Expand

This is not the game for you if you don't have a really great memory, and good reflexes to go with it. My memory is good, but I struggle with this game. More precisely, with the boss, I just can't beat it. I can beat all stages leading up to it, but not the boss fight itself, he just tries to catch you off guard all the time, and the slightest mess-up will make you fail the stage. Even on easy it seems impossible to beat him (at least for me), and I've tried so many times, so so many times, and then I just gave up and never wanted to see that game again. But up to that point, the game was fun, and challenging.
The tunes are great, controls are solid (response time is great), it looks great, and it's challenging, all you can want pretty much. Just the boss bit..yeah..ruins everything for me.
I do recommend it, but with a warning of "Do not expect to complete".… Expand

It seemed to me that the "artist" behind it, felt the need to feel very "artsy" and "original" with this game, but in the end what he ended up is something really messy. The gameplay is clicking through the pictures, which were taken from many angles. Not the most fun gameplay mechanic as you could imagine. The next gameplay aspect is to look for symbols that you can draw, which are usually on some Polaroid pictures, hidden somewhere (but not really hidden). The final part is to apply these symbols to an object, to complete the stage. That's all, that's all there is to the gameplay. There's obviously a story, but it's nothing that stands out from many indie film producers..basically, it's nothing great, its just ok.
It took me 40 minutes to complete the game. Mobile games from year 2000 took longer to complete than that, and that's saying something (unless you're too young to know what mobile games in 2000 were like). I basically completed it without much effort, because all you could do is find the object you need to apply the symbol to, and from there you could try all symbols in a row, or even just swiping random things across the screen and game registering that as a symbol, the correct one for that matter (that really is what happened to me).
To conclude, this game is pointless, I do not recommend it at all.

I mean, I really don't like games like Dota 2 or LoL, played both, and tried to learn them, but pretty much got the feeling that there is no fun to be had with these games, but Awesomenauts is really fun and I like it, and my girlfriend likes it too. One thing that's bad about it is that there are only 4 maps, and I feel it could use a lot more.
Character selection is good, fits mine and my girlfriends play-styles (mine more agile, her raw power).
The game seems a little bit unfair with the kills, as the last shot gets all the credit, and the one who might have taken off all the damage, gets no credit at all, not even an assist. But I guess thats the case with all MOBAs, which is another part I don't like about them.
If you're just starting to play with friends, I would recommend playing a private game, with bots, so you could adjust the difficulty level and learn. Going straight to play against real people will be hard.
So in conclusion, I would totally recommend this game even to people who are not MOBA lovers.… Expand

If you're trying to make a turn, you're going to have difficulties with that, since if you hold a direction a bit too long, and you'll spin out, or just slam yourself into the closest wall, and yet slightest tap doesn't cut it, so you have to hope you hit that 0.1ms (exaggerating a bit) long sweetspot. Plus the fact, that you lose like 4/5 of your speed when you even slightly scratch the wall is really annoying. I really couldn't play more than few minutes of this game, it just feels terrible from the start, and learning to decently drive in that game is a waste of time, since you're probably not going to find another person who's willing to go through that hell. This is bad, I do not recommend it at all.… Expand
