Average User Score: 8.7Aug 24, 2013I don`t usually give a 10/10 for games that still have minor flaws, but after i bought this game i think I have sunk almost all my free time in it. And the time flies and you realize you need to work, to eat. And this happened for days.
It is a splendid game, a marvel I might say, very well balanced, the difficulty scales with expansions, what can I say more than a superb strategy game.
And it scales in such a realistic way. For example, playing as the ottomans, I find out that after the initial blast, the powerful ottomans tend to remain behind in the 18th century and the 19th century, so even after i am one of the greatest power around the globe (land), I still consider if I should attack another nation. The coalition system and the technology points investment are so well designed that will enhance your gameplay with hard thought decisions. To invest in buildings, in technology, in expanding and so much more.
What can I say more than a strong 10/10. One of the best, if not the best strategy game i have ever played.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.3Jul 15, 2013A great game. I only gave it a 9 because it lacks co-op (not multiplayer, but co-op with maximum 2-3 players).
It has almost everything a survival game needs, and it is growing still with constant patching (free of charge).
Most of the bad reviews are made by people that can`t cope with dying in games (permanent death) or with harsh environments that punish bad decisions and rewards intelligence.
A beautiful, challenging game. Do yourself a favor and buy this game, it is really that good.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.7Jun 2, 2013What a rush. So much time consuming. This game is so good.
If you enjoy medieval strategy games, with tactical gameplay, this is a must buy. If you don`t, watch some youtube gameplay videos and multiply the sensation by x1000. It is that good.
A gaming session will swallow you for hours and hours into the night, cause it is that addictive.
Buy it, try it, you won`t regret it. The DLC is nice too.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.8Jun 2, 2013The most complex MMO out there. At first is rather harsh to get into, but there is a unique world in there to be explored.
I can`t detail the game in this review, cause it is huge, so many paths, so many opportunities. It would take me thousands of words only to scratch the mechanics and the general stuff; so I won`t do that.
Maybe the game has some particularities that will exclude the players that hope for something predetermined, as "aim and shoot, fast reward in serotonin, you never loose, you never win anything", instead it grows on you, and will make you realize how much emptiness resides in the current gaming world. So if you are tired with the boring, identical games that pop up today, you should try this one.
EVE is hard, EVE is unique, EVE is deep, EVE will consume you and will reward you.
A 10/10 for the wonderful experience that this game offered me.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.0Oct 19, 2012For the gender, it is a great game. The low ratings come from gamers used with intuitive control based games. It is hard to learn , but once you get deep into it you will start loving it. This game is full with realism, and you will feel the slow pace of development, instead of "mine this, build this, attack, win" type of strategy games. If it weren't for the diplomatic crisis system, I would have given it a 10.
A beautiful, smart game for the gender.… Expand
Average User Score: 4.6Sep 27, 2012I hate when ppl downvote a game out of principle, but I do empathize with them in this case. At the moment I speak, this game doesn`t deserve more than a 4, from a couple of reasons. First, the game is 10 yrs old, with no major improvement regarding graphics and gameplay since it`s launch (it`s getting dumber, and the playstyle is highly repetitive). Second, this game costs 70% the price of Torchlight2, every month, adding to this is the cost of the expansion(180% the cost of T2, only for an exp). This is OUTRAGEOUS. And don`t lie to yourself that a mmo needs monthly to sustain servers etc. GW2 does it only with the initial cost of the game. For those that get into this money eating machine, you have a major fault in the stagnation of the game industry. I am sorry to say, but atm Blizz just reached the EAjunk business model and the community has a major fault for this. I have played a couple of hours on a friend`s account, and I can state that the game has passed it`s time, a long time ago. I will stick with the memories that I have with wow from BC and WOTLK.
Please don`t support this game. You are not only supporting Michael Morhaime to buy another city or so, but you are also sending a clear message to the game dev community that you enjoy monthly subscriptions on utterly foolish games (see swtor).… Expand
Average User Score: 7.6Sep 5, 2012I don`t understand all the negative reviews on this game. For me is the single most brilliant game ever made, too bad it doesn't have a sequel to follow it's steps. From graphics to gameplay to story, this is the game that filled my early years in gaming with hope that the game industry will grow in intelligence and innovation. I was wrong, but still this game deserves to be in top 10 ever made. It saddens me that so many ppl view it as junk.

Average User Score: 9.0Sep 5, 2012Simply a great expansion for one of the greatest games ever. Nothing more to add. This is the game that brought the big success that wow now has. If it weren't for war3, I would have never bought wow. This game is that good. A perfect story, perfect multiplayer, perfect meta-game, considering the birthplace of Dota.… Expand
