I also hate the manga style. I uninstalled it immediately. Avoid at all costs. This is NOT an RPG.
Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Witcher, Elder Scrolls, Fallout are RPGs. This peace of cr*p is NOT.
I give it 1 point for the beautiful graphics. The rest makes it unplayable to me. I find it totally incomprehensible why the creators didn't make fights full of real time action. This is unbelievable. And it is supposed to be the XIII part? Who played the previous 12 - Japanese nerds?… Expand

I urge all the players to check what this "new technology" does to your SSD drive before you order it. The attitude of EA is unacceptable. I will never buy any more EA games unless they change their policy. I will however pre-order Witcher 3 to support developers that don't use any DRM whatsoever. First of all,Ryse: Son of Rome amazes with stunning graphics, but the pace of the game and its length doesn't allow a player to enjoy it.
First of all, you have to realize that most negative scores are based on the fact that the game is extremely short. I finished it in 2 evenings - so I played for 6 hours maybe. If you take the price of the game and its length then the score is quite reasonable. My review, however, focuses only on gameplay and it's AWESOME! If you like the times of ancient Rome and slicing your opponents this is the game for you. I love actions games and taking a break from BF4 to play such a gem was really nice. Let's be honest, there isn't any other game where you could be a Roman soldier apart from i.e. Total War, which is a different genre. It puzzles me however, why the game is so short, why you can't walk (you almost always run), why you can't kill silently and why the creators didn't develop it further. Because of that, it seems as if the product was not finished. They could have gone so much further, because the world of ancient Rome they created is beautiful. I will never forget the feeling I had when I first saw Colosseum - absolutely stunning! Unfortunately, you don't get much chance to admire the views because everything happens too fast. Also, slicing your opponents becomes boring quite quickly. A player has no choice over his actions and there is no stealth option whatsoever.
All in all, Crytek created a beautiful game, which is definitely too short. If they developed it further, created alternative choices of events, enabled stealth kills, using tactics and an open world it would be 10/10 for me. (Personally, I would like to see all the elements from Shadow of Mordor combined in Ryse - then it would be perfect.)… Expand

Personally,I didn't really like Dead Rising 2, but this one absorbed me totally. Perhaps it was because of the plot that I found captivating. Personally, I consider the story to be the most important part of most games (apart from racing games) and although Dead Rising 3 isn't original in story-telling it reminds me of GTA with its cut-scenes - I enjoyed them a lot. The other reason I liked the game was because it wasn't really scary - it was humorous - I could compare my overall feeling to the one I had watching Inglorious Bastards by Tarantino.
Though at first I didn't like the countdown to the bomb detonation which was going to destroy the whole city I completed the game with some of the side missions 1 day before "day zero".
If I were to change anything about the game I would alter the way you have to go around the map. Running (as there is no walking) or driving through hordes of zombies and killing them gets boring after some time (even though there are lots of tools you can use and combine to create something new). I wish there were some helicopters to fly around - especially at the end of the game, when the number of zombies are overwhelming. Roadblocks spoil the fun of driving. You have to constantly open your big map (by pressing TAB) to check how to get to the destination as there are no gps-like directions on your mini map.
When it comes to performance I managed to play at max settings with i7 3770k, GTX 760 4GB OC and 16GB of RAM @ Full HD, but the framerate oscillated between 15 and 60fps - usually about 35fps. The reason I played at max. settings was that I didn't see much difference in performance after lowering the settings but there was a huge difference in quality of the picture.
All in all, if it wasn't for the performance my score would have been 8/10 as there were hardly any "deal-breaking" elements that modern games are full of recently. Try it if you like GTA and zombie games, but you don't like being afraid. Two more things: the game can be saved at any time (except for bosses fights) and it doesn't support nVidia 3D Vision.… Expand

First of all, the producers mislead you with the title: Ship Simulator, while it is clearly not! The only controls you have access to are: speed controls, steering wheel, bow thruster and a fire extinguisher. You can also tow other ships and deploy a smaller boat that you will use to rescue survivors or pull dead bodies from the water. That's it when it comes to "simulation". There is also a first person view, but you will definitely not use it as it is incredibly jerky in movement and it's really difficult to go around the ship.
The gameplay gets incredibly boring after just several minutes. Looking for survivors is a chore. You have no devices to help you - you can only spot people in the water which is extremely difficult and tiring for your eyes. Getting to the spot where you have some rescuing to do takes a lot of time and is also boring. You can only accelerate time 4x. The voiceover is quite poor and sounds artificial. On the positive side I must say that the graphics are fine: the water looks quite good and the ship is worked up to the detail.
My recommendation: avoid unless you are a big fan of sea games and it's exciting for you to look at your ship sailing without any action for hours.… Expand

Let me start by saying that I’m writing this review on the second day after the game has been launched, so there are many issues that may be improved in the future, however my score and the review is based on the current state of game.
I was really impressed when I started playing. The first mission gave a hint of what possibilities a player has and there are lots of them when we are talking about all the interactions except driving, which I will cover later. Blackouts, raising road blocks, messing with street lights, hacking into people’s phones, robbing their bank accounts, listening to private conversations - this is something that has never been available in any other game so far on that scale. The variability of all the tasks/missions you can take up is amazing. Shooting is decent. You can sneak your way in knocking enemies out or shooting them with a silenced pistol or you can shoot your way in with carbines, shotguns, grenades and many other. You can also use a range of many useful gadgets or hack into various devices to blow them up or just to distract enemies. This is all Fun with a capital F.
Now let’s look at some drawbacks. The game is quite difficult so you will repeat a lot of sequences. It’s only a matter of time when you will get irritated because of the fact that you cannot skip cut-scenes. You can neither save your game whenever you like, since there is only auto-save option. Driving is far from comfortable. Perhaps if you have an Xbox controller (as this is the only supported controller in PC version) things are better, but using a mouse and a keyboard will probably give you a headache. I would say car handling is somewhere between GTA and Saints Row IV - not so bad, but not good enough. Car damage is totally unrealistic. Drive straight into a wall with maximum speed - not only will you survive but your headlights will still be intact. Since this is game that promotes stealth it’s kind of puzzling why it is not possible to shoot lights - the only way to turn them off is to use a blackout gadget or blow a power transformer. The story is dull like Bold and Beautiful TV series. It all revolves around revenge - a motive old and exploited from all possible angles in entertainment. There is no humor. The main character is hard to be liked. The choice of clothes he can wear consists of changing colors mainly. You cannot reject a phone call. You have to get out of a car to start a mission. The reflections in shop windows are not real and look funny. The subtitles are shown in such a way that the last word of a sentence appears in the second line while the first line is already gone, which makes it hard to read. You cannot travel by taxi. You cannot store your vehicles although you can call for any vehicle you have unlocked. The radio resets every time you leave and enter a car. Some may say these are minor drawbacks and it may be true, but there is one that must be stated. You cannot shoot from a car! You may say it’s not a big deal until you have to do a mission, where you have to stop a guy. He has a car, you have a bike. Try to stop a car with a bike with no weapons, driving on a highway where there are no traps, road blocks you can use to your advantage and at the same time 4 other cars are trying to push you out of the road and are shooting with whatever they got. That’s where I got stuck in the game. I cannot abandon the mission, I cannot load a savegame from before, so the only option for me is to try until I succeed (I have tried about 20 times already) or wait for the developers to kindly enable shooting while driving.
All in all, I strongly advice that you wait for the game to be fixed before you buy it, unless you don’t mind all the things mentioned earlier. I haven’t brought up the online issues, because I believe they will be fixed soon.… Expand

Instead of creating another shooter, the creators set their eyes on the colorful storyWolfenstein has come out as a really nice surprise. Instead of creating another shooter, the creators set their eyes on the colorful story that makes the game so special. The action takes place in Poland, Germany, Britain and the Moon. Some people will like the dark story, which seems so real and is becoming even darker while the plot progresses to the end. All the characters' voiceover is perfect. Germans speak real German and Polish people speak real Polish and their English has a foreign accent. Anya, one of the protagonists, is played by Alicja Bachleda - a fine Polish actress. The protagonists are presented in such a way that a player starts to care about them. Although the main hero, B.J. Blazkowicz is tough he doesn't seem invincible. The alternative future where the game takes place is scary and worked up to the tiniest details. Transition from the 40s to 60s is shown perfectly. One of the coolest thing about the gameplay is that the player can decide to go all the way in or to sneak in, kill the officers silently and avoid enemy reinforcements. The graphics are ok and although some look ridiculous (e.g. wires on the floor which are completely flat, 2D textures) they do not affect the fun a player has.
I will sum up this review with my own opinion. I had a great deal of fun, the story sucked me in and I loved the Polish elements in the game as much as the 'realness' of this alternative reality. I didn't like the ending - it was like someone switched off the lights suddenly and told me to go to sleep. I also disliked the brutality of some scenes. This made me want to kill all the German Nazis and I didn't get my satisfaction neither while the torture scene in a Polish cellar nor by killing all the bad guys and one nasty Nazi b*tch.
Trivia: Did you know that in Germany the players will not fight the Nazis? That's right. The German version of the game does not have Nazis at all. Intriguing...… Expand
