It's also missing a few elements that made MOHAA great, it has a cheap feel, seems very buggy, lack of direction, repetitive levels, poor animation. Not a good game at all in my books... seems very rushed, unrefined. quite boring overall.… Expand

It does haveForget all the low scores, this game is a polished and well thought out game that just needs a few patches to get it right.
It does have it's problems...
1. The default mouse and keyboard control on PC needs fixing. Mouse control is plagued with console helpers such as movement acceleration and laggy unrefined movement. Don't expect to turn and shoot accurately with 1:1 ratio like with 99% of other PC games, try 30% accuracy.
Adjusting the XML settings file helped quite a bit but it is still cumbersome... Not to the point where I stopped playing, sure it took me 10x more retries on some missions because of the bad mouse controls (quickly aiming and shooting an enemy accurately is very tricky), but I persisted purely because this game is actually a good game overall.
2. Driving controls using the mouse+Kbd is a headache. I though GTA was bad, this game is twice as bad as GTA.
Hold the arrow keys down a bit too long and the car slides out. Hold the arrow key a bit too short and nothing happens.
Graphics are good, not great. In high lit areas everything looks like a 2007 game, but things looks quite good in darker lit or sunset scenario's.
The wireless hacking idea is fresh and works well.
I like how you can jump from camera to camera, steal ATM codes, activate bridges, etc..
Audio is excellent, decent actors, lots of variety.
Gameplay is questionable as pointed above.
But ignoring the mouse problems, the path finding and overall movement is decent. No excessive "stuck in animation and cant move where I want' issues like with many other games of late (i.e. Splinter Cell).
Missions can be quite enjoyable, especially the gang hideout missions. Drawing the cops in to take out the bad guys is challenging and rewarding when done properly.
However after completing a mission, there is some 'ok what do I do now'. Scanning the map for something to do, ignoring the boring sub-games. Chess, 3D pacman, race from point A to point B... I would prefer more missions where you need to infiltrate buildings/hideouts, track down and chase other hackers, something that requires a bit of intelligence please...
80/100 due to bad mouse keyboard controls.
93/100 if they fix the mouse/keyboard problems.… Expand

IfHitman series has taken a low blow to the lower intestinal region, this is nothing like the brilliant Blood Money game and prior games.
If you are a classic Hitman fan, you may want to avoid this game.
The first fish market mission was great, you have the usual hitman style gameplay in a sandboxed area, then everything goes haywire. It turns into a linear storyline, classic hitman elements are thrown out the window, it turns into a linear Max Payne style game.
Not good. This is not the Hitman we know.
Stopped playing after 3-4 missions.
Attempting to play the game while ignoring the fact that it is a hitman game failed.
At a basic level it simply doesn't deliver, not sure what the devs were trying to accomplish but it just doesn't work.
For the love of Hitman... bring back the classic Hitman style sandbox gameplay, don't try to be an emotional linear action FPS... it simply doesn't work with this franchise.

Fast paced Call of Duty or Battlefield fans should probably avoid this game.
Sure it's not as polished as Ghost Recon, it is a bit B grade I suppose, not much of a storyline, a bit too short, but I enjoyed it never the less.
Taking distance and wind direction into consideration adds to the thrill... come to think of it, without this feature the game would probably just be another cheap sniper game worth avoiding. Getting the direction and elevation correct can be quite a challenge.
Many of the missions rely on this mechanism since you are often up to a kilometre away picking off bad guys, success or failure depends on your accuracy.
Atmosphere wise, this game does have a few memorable moments.
Slowly drifting through shallow waters, taking out bad guys one by one from a downed aircraft near a village built aside a forest lake...
Taking out bad guys from a bell tower high up while protecting your team below from enemy advances.
Taking out enemies that have a team mate under hostage a kilometre away.
The game is heavily scripted and linear, not much exploration or choice at all.
But for this kind of game a linear scripted layout is kind of expected.

It is quite similar to borderlands, but even borderlands has wide open areas and a lot more freedom of travel. Rage has no wide open areas, not very explorable at all. Way too linear for my liking.
Not a bad game, technically brilliant, well made, I enjoyed it initially but it is missing character, substance, storyline.
I stopped playing it a quarter way through simply because I got bored..

There are still a few bugs present since release, such as Recycle Centers failing to collect garbage for no apparent reason, having to demolish and rebuild them to get them working again. And path finding issues such the 'cant find work' problem despite there being available work in a commercial building with wealth-matching jobs right next door. But these are minor issues. At least traffic now works properly.
Compared to the previous games this is a breath of fresh air, the new 3D system works well, nice visuals and animations. It can be quite a challenge building a profitable city, balancing out wealth, crime, fire coverage, managing traffic, optimizing trade, futurizing the city, building successful casino's, getting everything balanced up to the point where the city can just run itself for hours with no input. But at this point there is not much else to do, the city is running fine, time to build another city, then another, then another, then it's like - what now? I suppose the other games had the same issue, but with the other games you could bulldoze a quarter of the city and redesign whole areas, relocate industrial etc... In this game you can't really do that due to the limited space, perhaps the game should have been called SimCityCentral or SimCBD because that's pretty much the area size you have to play with.
If the city size was 200% - 300% larger it would be far far more enjoyable.
Larger city sizes would allow you to create suburb areas, a city area, farming area, proper highways - this is simply not possible in this game. Bit of a shame. It is the biggest flaw of an otherwise brilliant game.
I would probably give it 92/100 if the city size was larger. But it gets 82/100 from me.… Expand

It seems to have strayed away from that classic Deus Ex atmosphere. I stopped playing it half way through and continued with it months later.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, they are some very enjoyable areas and the game is very polished, excellent graphics, but I found some areas and missions to be a bit stale, the locations and layout and characters are not quite up to par with the previous games. The first few levels were the better ones.
But that is just my opinion, it's still a decent game never the less.
If you are a fan of Deus Ex it's worth a look.

Easily one of the best games I've ever played.
Darken the room and put on your headphones, enable surround sound, turn down the game music to 10%, this game delivers great atmosphere and some very tense moments. If you want fast paced action with guns blazing, dont bother.. I found myself low on ammo far from a save point hiding under a table for 10 minutes just waiting for the alien to make a noise so I can continue on. Moving slowly from one table to another, listening to every knock and thump, slowly peering around corners, looking back every few seconds, it can get very tense sometimes. Once you have the flame thrower you can be a bit more careless. A short burst will scare it away.
You really need to strategize your next move in the alien missions. The androids also provide some decent suspense in some areas, but you can easily outrun them.
The missions are well designed, but you do need to track back and forth a fair bit in some missions. Having to search for power generators and power them up all the time can get a bit repetitive, and looking for the exit point and keycards can get a bit tiresome, but it's not too excessive like in some other games (Doom 3 comes to mind).
This game is longer than your average game but I never got bored thanks to the atmosphere, storyline, and the mix of non-alien missions.
Graphics, sound, gameplay are all brilliant, lighting is excellent. However the inventory system and monitor interfaces could be improved. Took me ages to work out how to use a medkit (press Q, hover over medkit, release Q, hold R). Guns don't reload automatically when you run out of bullets so you need to check your ammo at all times.
The maps and direction indicator could be improved, I was totally lost a few times since the direction indicator sometimes disappears and the destination point on the map was on another level.
Negatives aside, the game is very polished and well made. It only crashed once in one of the later levels. Alt-Tab works.
The Alien AI is very well done, probably the best AI I've ever seen in a game. It didn't feel scripted at all. Human and Android AI could probably be improved, but scripted androids was useful when timing sneaks past them.
Easily the best alien game ever, probably the best suspense game of all time.

The Races and CopFinally NFS has gone back to its original style! The graphics are decent, sound is good, loading times aren't too bad. The Races and Cop chases are sufficient. Going as fast as possible in Freeplay mode is good fun. The gameplay is ok but needs tweaking. There seems to be an unresponsive steering delay which gets you into crashes, it can be a huge task trying to avoid oncoming traffic properly. Drifting around corners can be a bit tricky, the cars seem to power slide and tire squeal a bit excessively. It would be great if the driving dynamics was more similar to Grid. The game deserves a 9 but I gave it a 10 because this is how Need for speed games should be like.. driving Lambo's at high speed down long country roads. The game is called "Need for Speed" after all ;)… Expand
