Average User Score: 8.3May 19, 2013Positives: Incredible scenery, awesome graphics, tons of variation with weapons, armor, in-game items, so much to explore, and seriously in-depth story (although not exactly clear to the player, but if you read everything and explore everything, you'll see the story, and what a story.), so much choice available to the player right from the beginning of the game. Able to replay this game again and again and again and still be given a challenge. It's one of the more difficult games out there, but that's what I like about it. With the intense difficulty that this game provides (damn you FromSoft), the sheer jubilation you feel when you accomplish something in this game is what it's all about for me. And the added fact I've managed to get all achievements is something I never thought I'd achieve with this game (not that it was a simple task). You can also summon other players to your world to help you with boss battles, and to help you clear the area up until that point. There's no option to change difficulty, so you gotta learn from your mistakes and strategise how you're going to do things.
Negatives: The lag you get when doing PvP (not so bad with co-op play) is ridiculous, it's pretty much impossible to fight an invading/invaded player-enemy as it will almost always lag out (for the majority of us). I personally don't consider this next point a negative, but a lot of people will find this game extremely hard and will be off-put by it.
9/10 because of the huge amount of fun I had playing this, searching every rock and every corner of every area to find something new, even on my 50+ playthrough (not new game +50, but you get the jist). Extremely challenging game, which made it all the more sweeter once I completed it, and then completed it again to claim all 'ending' achievements. You will always find something new, very few people on earth know every little detail about Dark Souls, so you'll definitely get your money's worth.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.0May 19, 2013Positives: Great graphics, a great game to play with friends as it always is. Decent online community, couple of new features.
Negatives: It's pretty much exactly the same game as FIFA 11/12 etc, only a really buggy version, there're bugs everywhere in-game (personal experience; I was about to cross a ball into the box, when suddenly my player on-the-ball teleported into the box, and sending my cross off the pitch for a throw-in to the opposition.). The only main difference with the new FIFA is the new team line-ups, which is essentially all we're paying for every year. This game to me suggests that EA wanted to see how bad they could make the game and still watch people purchase it (in terms of the sheer amount of bugs, with an even more annoying ref giving the most ridiculous decisions). Not a big fan of FIFA 13, I can play 11 or 12 and have just as much fun.
4/10 because of the bugs, lack of new content, and the price of the game for what is essentially the same game repeating itself every year, with the exception of a little bit of a graphic boost and more annoying ref's with each one that comes around.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.2May 19, 2013Positives: SOOOOO much variation in weapons, loot, mission quests, excellent dialogue with a good number of one-liners (or several..), simple jump-in/jump-out online play, with friends or worldwide connection, making it even more entertaining to play. A number of different classes also, with so much replayability, and the fact that you can create more than one character at a time is a big bonus for a game of this stature. Huge, open, semi-free roam world, some awesome rather tidy graphics, and very amusing in-game NPCs for more of the fun-factor.
Negatives: When playing with friends, loot drops aren't shared and only one player can pick up the loot-drops from enemies. Also, some people like him, some people don't, but ClapTrap (the robot) constantly talks rubbish and he does my nut in! Very annoying to listen to and unfortunately he can't be killed.
9/10 for a brilliant game with lots of different things to do, lots of equipment to use, and a joyful playing experience with the dialogue and the characters on show.… Expand
Average User Score: 5.6May 19, 2013Positives: Gameplay, In-Game navigation which is simple to use and easy to understand for newbies, the game is free to play and download, at no point do you HAVE to purchase anything, but the fact is because there's no pressure to purchase, and it's such a good game, 99% of players will inevitably purchase things (such as new champions, skins for your champions, runes, etc) because it's a great game, and definitely worth supporting with a few purchases. The game offers PvP and PvE both with 3v3 and 5v5, Once you reach LvL 30, you can begin participating in Ranked matches, and for most of us, we want to get our names up there on the Ladder Rankings for the whole world to see, don't we? They're constantly adding new champions, keeping the game fresh and fun to play. There're tons of in-game items to chop and change how you play your chosen champion, there're so many variations with each and every match played. RIOT constantly fix bugs with frequent patch updates (every 2 weeks at the most) to ensure we're all happy as gamers.
Negatives: The LoL gaming community is one of the worst I've ever experienced, trolls and idiots all over the place, which sadly, when playing alone, takes the fun away from the game a lot of the time, and rage will begin to set in. This game's community has the potential to manipulate a great and friendly player into a complete nightmare with rage. That is the one and only main issue with this game. However if you can get a group together and make sure you know all members of your team, and get together on Skype/Team Speak, then this issue will be avoided and there won't be much to complain about. The other negative is that the servers are often buggy and RIOT have to fix things on a weekly basis, although having said that, it doesn't happen as often as it used to. Another minor negative is that there isn't much map variation; two 5v5 maps (one ranked map, and one 'capture-the-flag' type game mode), one 3v3 map, and an 'all random, all mid' map which is also 5v5, but with no ranked option. If they could provide the game with another map for each game mode, the fun factor of this game would definitely further increase.
8/10 as it's a great game for a free-to-play, nice graphics, plenty of variation, no force to purchase anything at any time, and even a 9 or 10/10 if you get a group of friends together. Unfortunately, the poor community prevent this game from being a higher score.… Expand
