They should have just released it next year when it was done. This is still just beta to me. I didn't want to spoil the release, so haven't played since beta 2. I loved beta 2! Was so excited about the final game. What have they done to it? Its still full of bugs, theres still little to do.
The starting space station has no market! WTF Why not? So I have to go somewhere else to begin trading, well how about telling me that. They've slowed the supercruise speed down, so you now spend about 10 minutes starring at nothing happening. I was so bored, I did the laundry and came back! Then, I finally got to my destination to sell the poxy 4 food cartridges to make a measly 60 credit profit, I navigated to the landing pad and the ship wouldn't dock despite being perfectly lined up and landing gear down.
I retried 3 times to dock, then just repeatedly rammed the landing pad (still perfectly on target). Then quit and uninstalled this rubbish! Save your money. Oh and I'd already given up on the multiplayer by beta 2. So don't expect to play with friends either.… Expand

But hoped to build up the enthusiasm to play it again, so left my subscription active. A week ago they took a months payment and then suspended my account for cheating!!! Now 1:- I never cheat at anything... ever. 2:- I've been working away for 3 weeks. 3:- Its almost criminal they took a months money and then immediately afterwards handed me a suspension and then cancelled my subscription! They are thieves! Just stay away!… Expand

I'mConsidering there are 4 turtles and the options in steam show multiplayer and co-op, I was looking forward to some 4 player co-op. I'm posting this review as a balance to the 10/10s its getting. As a single player game, I found it alright 6/10 I would say. But I just wanted to warn everyone that the co-op multiplayer is currently "not implemented". Yes, they plan on patching it in later!!! Great to mention before 4 of us bought this rubbish! Now I find on Activisions support page:
So basically, there is no LAN, if you want to play with friends, good luck. We can't get LAN or Online working. You've been warned.… Expand

Go out and kill a monster. Repeat. Ok, so that's the title of the game. It wouldn't be so bad if the monster hunting was fun. It is at first. But the controls are just too unresponsive even with the circle pad. I ended up going for sword and shield. I swing my sword but notice the monster is about to charge. I can block right? Well, not if the previous animation is still going. Need to roll out of danger? Not if the previous animation is still going. I can't understand why a game that requires you to watch for tells in a monsters attacks forces you to complete whatever action you started before allowing another. Try this with the bigger weapons that have longer animation frames for some real frustration. The underwater parts are more frustrating and lets just add a time limit on top so after nearly an hour of 4 players fighting a creature that keeps running off every 2 minutes and hiding randomly in one of the tiny linked arenas, and you lose anyway. Bought it, sold it.… Expand

In the end, I decided to at least give it a chance and I'm glad I did. Things I like: Gunsmith, I love the gun customisation. I haven't unlocked much, but theres lots to choose from and plenty of camos to give your weapon a unique look. I was most concerned about the graphics, but I'm pleased to say in DX11 maxed out I really quite like them. The environments are detailed, debris, graffiti on walls. The textures look crisp. I've only played the campaign so far and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Ok, so the negative. I've listened to the advice and am playing version 1.0. I've read about the disaster that is patch 1.2 and avoided it. This means I can't yet play multiplayer (so this game clearly was rushed out). The controls are ok. Clearly from a console, but I've tweaked the mouse sensitivity to my liking and remapped the scope to RMB. I struggled at first with performance. I have everything maxed in DX11 on a 4ghz 2500k and 560ti. I struggled to get a steady 60fps. However, I found that adding launcher and GR.exe to nvidia control panel and selecting AFR2 allowed me to use SLI quite successfully and now its really fluid. The single player is a bit linear and I'm not a fan of story telling anyway, so a bit more shooty and less talky would have been better for me. In conclusion, I believe if you liked R6 Vegas like you'll really like this. I love the cover system (holding shift moves you to the next context sensitive cover). I haven't experience any bugs (yet!) and haven't had any problems at all with the game so far.… Expand
