The games are more of an experiance than a game, the animation, lighting, gameplay, charectors and asthetic design all culminate to create an atmospheric and beutiful adventure.
ICO is about a young boy who must escape a strange land with a mysterious girl who is held captive by strange shodowy creatures, you must work together to solve puzzles, escape enemies and traps, defeat monsters and ultimately win your freedom, truely one of the most beutiful and atmospheric games out there on any generation of console, this game deserves to sit proudly amongst your collection.
Shadow of the Collosus is the sequal to ICO, your charector has grown into a young man and travels to a forbiden land to seek the aid of a demon to save the life of your mysterious companion from the previous adventure. Whilst the game keeps the sthetic qualitys of the origional it has vastly differant gameplay, for a start it is an open world sandbox adventure, your main task is to destroy huge giants, there are no minions to fight, only the hugely intimidating creatures which the game has you clambering up like some sort of animated structure, theryre made of part stone part flesh and each colossus has its own individual way of defeating it whether it be climbing up it back hair and gripping to it back for dear life plunging a sword into its weak spot, leaping fromyour stampeding stalion onto a giants wing and slowly working your way along its snake like body and 100 mph 10,000 ft in the air or even being tossed around on a giants beard as you desperately slash at its face with your sword, truely epic in every sense of the word, if you regard yourself as a serious gamer you owe it to yourself to experiance the adventures of a young boy named ico.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.9Sep 25, 2011After the previous gears title this instalment is a true return to form.
It ticks all the boxes needed for a truely great gears of warAfter the previous gears title this instalment is a true return to form.
It ticks all the boxes needed for a truely great gears of war sequal, frantic 3rd person shooter gameplay, check, amateur chainsaw meat sculpturing, check, necks the size of oak trees, check. Then adds a ton of gameplay fixes and tweaks from gears 2 and adds even more stuff you never even knew you wanted but can never again live without, massive meat cleavers of death? yes please! Mechs made from solidified awsomeness? Please sir i want some more! Beast mode and 4 player co-op campaign? Too right!
But wait, theres more.
The campaign is probably the most fun ive had playing a video game since i played cod 4 way back in the day, its extremely well paced and balanced, theres always new stuff being thrown into the mix to keep it fresh and interesting and the story is arguably the best gears story yet, with the addition of 4 player co-op campaign, the most epic moments known to man and some truely heart wrenching moments to puncture through the violence and straight into your soul, you got yourself a damn fine campaign to enjoy.
Multiplayer has been beefed up, ironed out into a chrisp responsive ultra smooth strip of chrispy bacon made of whole grain gaming goodness. Fresh outa Mr Blazinskis oven and ready to be devoured and enjoyed.
every single tiny little problem that plagued gears 2's multiplayer has been fixed, there is never a second where you dont have 100% control of your charector and the dedicated servers ensure that the action never skips a beat.
The multiplayer is now more accesable and deeper than ever, the addition of team deathmatch with respawns has really opened up the multiplayer experiance to those inexperianced gears noobs out there.
New additions to the game modes are beast mode, where you play as the locust as you sabotage the pitifull humans defences and bend them to the will of the hive mind, 4 player campaign co-op as i mentioned, team deathmatch, as i also mentioned and beast mode which has been revamped and now includes the ability to build fortifications with the cash you have earned slaughtering your enemys.
So yeah, if you dig gears or shooters in general id say that the single player and multiplayer modes more than justify you parting with your cold hard cash, i will say one thing before i go though, fear and respect the sawed off! It can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

Im also left wondering why the pc version has a much higher rating than the xbox version despite the xbox version being the platform it was primarily developed for and ported over to pc and ps3, not to mention the fact that the pc versions release was hampered my alot of set backs such as the accidental release of the dev version on steam instead of the retail version, keep in mind this game has been in development hell since the 360's early days, baring that in mind the game is phenominal. If this game were a drug id be lying overdosed in my room right now, complete and utter game crack, buy it now, id say that its even better than deus ex human revolution.… Expand

Average User Score: 5.0Aug 21, 2011unless you play black ops consistently, then theres little to no point in purchasing this map pack, thats a mantra alot of gamers say whenunless you play black ops consistently, then theres little to no point in purchasing this map pack, thats a mantra alot of gamers say when considering whether or not it is actually worth shelling out the extravagantly priced map packs that activision insists on churning out, and its true. If you arent a frequent player of activisions block buster franchise then you are better off spending your money selsewhere. The maps themselves are your typical treyarchh fare, although they have listened to fans criticisms when it comes to certain issues that have plagued the title, they added a reskinned version of cliffeside from world at war, the long sight lines really adhere well to the amateur armchair snipers out there, and there is a nice little easter egg in the map hanger 18 with a nod towards a certain apple related glitch that i personaly really enjoyed, but aside from that the multiplayer maps are average at best and add little to the core multiplayer black ops experiance. As a massive fan of treyarchs zombies mode i was quite pleased with the offering of zombie imbued carnage that treyarch had so graciously layed out for me to feast upon, shan-gri-la is a fast paced, tight, tense run and gun affair with plenty of secrets for players to discover, not to mention some awsome new enemy types to mash up with your ray gun. So to summerise, if your a massive fan of black ops zombies or competitive multiplayer modes, thi is worth the purchase, if however you only dabble in black ops' multiplayer modes i would encourage you to resist the urge to buy this one.… Expand
