Average User Score: 8.0Oct 19, 2013Well I'm sorry but this isn't a game. You basically run around trying to find the story of the game with a narrator helping you do so. The point of it is to show you the limitations of gaming, maybe even of your life but in all honesty, ppl who think about "life" or "games" know that already and don't need this software.
So, if you want a real game a piece of entertainment then avoid this title but if you want to experience what game design is all about then feel free to buy this and run around in circles for an hour.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.9May 14, 2013Nice theme but poorly executed.
Here is a quote from a wiki about the games most important mechanic the review score of your game:
"... Good quality game DOES NOT MEAN good reviews.
In this game, you compete EXCLUSIVELY against your own previous high score ....Therefore, in order to get good a review score, you need to perform slightly better than your previous high score....."
Which means the worst thing you could do is making the most awesome game ever because you will have a hard time beating yourself afterwards.
Which makes the game pointless.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.9Apr 26, 2013I got it for around 70€ (thx to the strong euro) including all expansions but still too expansive if you ask me.
It is a solid 4x game with a strong focus on the big picture, means more macro.management and less micro. (for example you can't build on planets). You can also let the AI take over any task you want.
The game features 11 races and a galaxy with up to 50.000 planets which is amazing. You can design your own ships (simpler than in Sots) and choose its look based on a list of all available ships.
Another big plus is its exploration part. You can discover lots of hidden sites which give you bonuses and extras, like ancient capital ships that can be recovered. You can also gather bits and pieces which have an impact on your gameplay.
About its complexity: Not as hard as Sword of the Stars but deeper than Endless Space or Sins of a Solar Empire.
It is worth its price but only if you are a fan of the 4x genre.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.0Mar 23, 2013A fascinating survival/exploration game made by only 2 ppl. Very beautiful graphics with a lot of love put into it.
You are playing a scientist (first person view) who suffers from the plague and is looking for a cure on an empty island. Well empty except of some sort of beast that hunts you.
Most of the time you are exploring the island, search for the right formula for your medicine, collect flowers and do some research on the,
Every now and then you will encounter the beast, you can't fight it you can only run or hide which makes a great atmosphere. A bit similar to Amnesia but not that stressful… Expand
Average User Score: 7.7Mar 23, 2013I'm a big fan of the Civ series but this one is the first civ game that bored me after only a couple of hours. Tons of dlc but no innovation, odd new combat mechanics (1 unit per hex but the maps are too small), a lot of missing features from the old games, less management,....
Feels like a "Civ Light" for newcomers to the genre… Expand
Average User Score: 8.2Mar 23, 2013This game is really great and deserves its high ratings. Excellent story, good graphics and a solid survival part. Well at least in the first third of the game then you turn into a one man army which is biggest downside of the game and takes away a lot of the thrill you have in the beginning but besides it is a must have.… Expand
