Average User Score: 5.4Dec 31, 2013I'm not sure how to rate this game because I think the way it tells a story is really good, however, I don't think it's 20$ good. There's about 3 hours of gameplay, maybe less, and literally 0 replay value to the game. It's very hard to miss notes because you pretty much have to get them all to complete the game. The story is good, but once again, the game is so short its frustrating. If the game had some sort of expansion pack or something like that, then I think the game MIGHT get it's value out of it. If this was a 1 dollar game or even a free game, then the score would be a different story. But the fact that the game is so short, and so pricey, I cannot give this game a good score.… Expand
Average User Score: 3.3Dec 29, 2011This game is nearly EXACTLY like MW2, in every aspect. The online game play has only been slightly tweaked since the previous game and the overall game feels rushed and un-finished. The single player game play is once again, exactly like MW2, it feels rushed and boring. It's a lot of the same and there is not much to say. MW3 feels like a cash in to make some extra cash, because they know that their players are going to buy their game. I cannot finish the single player because the levels are not fun, and they feel like a task that I NEED to complete just for the achievements. Same exact thing with spec ops mode, I feel like I need to beat all the levels just for that achievement score. Nothing more. Also, I am aware most of the people working on the game got laid off, and I feel sorry for those people, but, to put it simply, there are crews of 10 or less people who make much better games, in a shorter amount of time. It can't be that hard to put a new skin on MW2, because that's what this game is.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.6Dec 16, 2011This game is one of those classic games that will forever be remembered (and in this case feared). This game was very well designed and looks really nice on full graphics, which is actually recommended for this type of game, where it heavily relies on the atmosphere. In the game, you don't get any weapons at all. And in fact you can't kill anything, and that isn't the point of the game at all. What the designers where trying to get across was the feeling of helplessness, and that's exactly what the game does. Every single time you see a monster, or hear a growling in the darkness, you hide, and hope he doesn't find you, because if he does, you are dead. This game is very scary, and very hard. Although you may not die a lot, you will be puzzled at the events occurring as the plot slowly unfolds and you discover many areas and secrets that lay within the castle you've awoken in. In short, the story is amazing. Atmosphere is a huge part of the game, and it perfects it with the darkness. If you look at a monster too long, you start to lose sanity. The more you lose sanity, the more frequently monsters start showing up. The longer you stay in the darkness, the lower your sanity gets. And by doing this, the game encourages you to go toward light, and stay near the light, until the sanity aspect is forgotten, and it becomes a habit, and definitely enhances the game play. The only flaws in the game is that sometimes it's actually TOO dark, and it makes it impossible to see, even with a lantern. Overall though, this game is really, really fun, and is definitely worth the money put into it. If you wanna see what the game is like, I'm doing an LP of it right now @ http://www.youtube.com/TheMindSpaz : I'm not asking for a sub or anything like that, just trying to give an example of what it's like.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.6Dec 16, 2011I've play a few sheer minutes of Saints Row 1 and 2 then decided to pick this game up for a try. And I have to say, it is extremely fun, and has provided me with hours of entertainment. I feel like I'm playing GTA4 with hacks and cheats, it's overall a ton of fun, and I can't put it down for more than a few hours. The story is lacking, but the missions themselves are fun, and entertaining. And there is a mode called "Whored mode" where you fight waves of well, random **** Every wave is different and unique in it's own way, and that mode alone has kept me coming back to the game.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.4Dec 16, 2011Boring. And old news. I honestly feel like I'm playing oblivion with a graphics update, and DLC. In terms of looks, the game looks pretty good, not the best I've seen though. Bethesda has this bad problem with ground textures overlapping each other and I see that quite a bit in skyrim. Secondly, the voice acting is done really well, but there are only about 5 voice actors from what I can hear. The quests get boring and repetitive and you level up far too quickly. The perks system though, is perfect. The 3 person fighting looks amazing, especially compared to oblivion and morrowind. The combat system is by far the best RPG combat system I've played. You can do a full 360 sword spin and kill everyone around you, and the more you use your weapons, the better it feels to use them. Sprinting feels natural, and not some kind of awkward clunky movement like in MW2/3. The reason I give this game a 5/10, is because of the repetitiveness of the quests, and general story. And on top of that, every time I battle a dragon, it feels the same. He flies up, breathes fire/ice, lands, and repeat. NPC bugs everywhere, much like oblivion and morrowind. and of course, jumping is still clunky.… Expand
Average User Score: 9.2Sep 18, 2011Half-Life 2 is an amazing game that should be in every household for FPS fans. This is the best FPS I have ever played. The story and voice acting was performed and done perfectly in every aspect, all the emotions and dialog was spot on with the events happening in the game. The story of Half-Life is truly amazing. It pull's you in and makes you want to keep playing, when most of the time with first person shooters, the formula is "Go here, kill those guys, BIG EXPLOSION, game end". But with Half-Life 2, they slow down and take some time to think. And not only that, the action is amazing and fun. There is only one problem and that is that the AI is stupid and lacking at times, but it doesn't effect the game play that much, it just makes the enemies a little easier. Any gamer that has a brain in their head, should own this game, or have at least played it.… Expand

There are many reasons, but I'll just talk about the main ones. For the Xbox 360, it feels like the controls were just moved from the PC version and it is hard to control and maneuver the player and slight delays with button presses, AKA, bad programming.
It lacks in the "free-running" aspect which is what originally drew my attention to this game, you can only simply wall run and climb, simple things like that, and it's very, very hard to keep a "flow" because of the lag online. The single player and the online gameplay are nearly exactly the same, except with one factor, lag.
Trying to get this game to run on my computer was even a hassle, it kept crashing without reason, and the controls felt sticky and slippery and just all over the place.
The one good thing however, is when you're getting this game to actually work properly.
The objectives are interesting and it is fun to play with friends, the customization is very in depth and its pretty much the only reason I'm giving this game a 5/10.
Overall, the game seems very, very unfinished and it seemed like bethesda was trying to meet a deadline. If this game was worked on a little bit longer, I'm sure this would be an amazing gemstone of a game that would definitely be a popular first person shooter on the market.… Expand
Average User Score: 9.4Sep 18, 2011This is probably one of the most creative games that will ever be put on the market.
The game was not meant to be long, it was meant to be fun, and enjoyable throughout the whole game. Although many people complain about how short the game is, if you really think about it, there are more than 18 chambers in the game with some complex puzzle solving. The simplicity of the game is what makes it the best game there is out there, and now it's free, and if you don't own the orange box already, or you are thinking of buying portal alone, its definitely worth the money. But, if you are not willing to buy a game that is fairly short, you might wanna look into renting it. Well worth the money.… Expand
