First of all the gameplay reminds me a little of Jetpack Joyride but in the end it's got its own ideas for "flyin' high". Secondly the twists (when your bird multiplies or grows rapidly) make it more challenging in a good way, as you can easily go on but if you like you may master up each level. Thirdly the graphics are amazing. I think it's been inspired by Limbo's black world but Badland distinguishes itself with beautiful backgrounds, more like fairytale style and very good lighting.
If you're looking for original arcade game this one is a must!… Expand

There's been Anomaly Korea in the middle but you can't say it was a real sequel rather a standalone campaign. The game takes you through 14 levels of the tower attack strategy game (and an introduction level) and a multiplayer mode which is based on typical tower defense gameplay versus tower attack and it's one vs one don't expect team battles or so. Multiplayer maps require plenty of training. I was beaten mostly until I got used to much faster pacing.
In the single player campaign you have the decoy and healing ability you may know from previous anomalies and the new ones are EMP and aim that lets you power-up your attack on a selected enemy. What makes the sequel really shining are the transforming units. Any of your tanks or rocket shooters or whatevers can be double tapped and it transforms into a robot capable of dealing different kind of attack to enemies like flamethrower machine or a drone that makes your power-ups stay longer and have bigger range. The transforming simply gives you more tactical options and it just looks cool. The game looks amazing I don't know any other strategy having that detailed graphics. Chillingo did it great again. I'd recommend Anomaly 2 to any strategy and TD fans out there. Played it on iPad 3, by the way.… Expand

Now, PS3 version is as good as Xbox one (which has a score around 8) but I'm giving 7 instead of 8 becuase it's soooo late (iOS version - August 2011, Android - Jan 2012, Xbox - April 2012 and PS3 now in Sept). It's got co-op mode which is exclusive to PS3, but this mode - while being some fun - doesn't add any depth to the gameplay. Speaking of which - it's reverted tower defense but somewhat deeper, closer even to some simplified RTS with unique twist. So fight stationary alien turrets: first create your squad (up to 6 units) and pick a path in urban maze for upcoming battle, and then go into action as the commander who helps the squad with AoE power-ups like repair, airstrike or smoke cover. In the end this combination makes pretty fun strategy and surprisingly good looking one. And it's really polished.… Expand

It's simply great - the amazing concept of building structures out of somewhat bloby stuff works perfectly on iPad (it's all about tapping & moving, with clear interface and simple but smart gameplay mechanics) and yet the levels are cleverly built so once you beat them you know the developer has had some concrete plan in mind and you feel well rewarded for completing missions. And it's hillarious. Great game.… Expand

The game utilizes ideas from Tower Defense by flipping the concept upside down, plus there are RTSPretty original twist on a tower defense. The game utilizes ideas from Tower Defense by flipping the concept upside down, plus there are RTS elements like resources gaining / spending, plus there's a bunch of action elements represented by controlling a commander who's equipped with power-ups to shift enemies. The story will take you approx. 6 hours to complete but if you're hungry for more, there's a set of survival modes to unlock and some kind of virtual missions challenging you with puzzle-like goals to achieve. Enough for a 800 points game. Plus it's localized to German and several other languages, like Japanese (!).… Expand
