It's not a mind blowing experience, but it is solid, legitimately difficult, and charming. The combat while enjoyable (especially if you play on Easy but hard generally results in 1-2 hits you die, which made the game especially challenging) does garner it's difficulty by exploiting the combat system. Enemies will back up the exact distance they know you can't close in time to hit them, some of the attacks don't register though this was a minor issue.
There was only one level in this entire game that I hated, it offered no story explanation and the cool factor that came with seeing a functional relic factory (i'm guessing) wore off fast as the level felt like a gauntlet.
Overall good game, not a great game, but I found it worth my time. There is some replay ability with the title with a extra hard mode and collectibles to find.… Expand

I mean I only paid $3.14.
Start playing the game and the plot immediately strikes me as straight up retarded for a variety of reasons, mostly relating to the fact I pay attention to Asian politics. Yet the game's story itself is equally as bad as the setup. You start out with a black protagonists, who and shocker here, doesn't say a thing...ever. From there you are subjected to stupid set pieces of "Evil North Koreans" committing atrocities. I suppose this is supposed to make the games heroes relatable, but it just comes across as an annoying set of bs that I can't skip. Then the game goes even stupider in the rescue attempt which should have literally killed you. Miraculously you survive unscathed and follow them as they make bad decision after bad decision in one of the worst Call of Duty Clones I have ever played.
Honestly the only thing this game has going for it, is some pretty decent guns and even those are overshadowed by the horrible regenerating health system that won't let you take more than a couple shots before having to duck behind cover. This wouldn't be a problem, but the game is la shooting gallery, die and you can enjoy having to gun your way through the same 20-30 NPCs again.
In the end, the story is bad, the game play is barely passable and for me just unenjoyable, you are forced to go along with every stupid decision that the characters make, and ultimately it isn't worth your time. Sure I got the game cheap, but the time I have to put into this game feels like a waste. Just straight up avoid getting this game, there are better uses of your time, like chewing $3 worth of gum while looking at 14 cents.… Expand

On the first day I couldn't even play the game as it has always on DRM and couldn't connect to the servers.
On the second day:today: I was able to connect to the servers but only to be able to play single player if I wanted to play multiplayer I would have to contact the games customer support. First thing in game I was dropped into a lame mission with zero orientation as to the mechanics (though I was able to figure them out with a bit of effort on my part) other than this is the history. The mission glitchy forcing me to roam around before it recognized I was on the objective marker, mining is tedious and not made up for by the destruction physics which aren't even used but exist more as a novelty or for multiplayer. When I finally finished the mission the travel mechanic was entirely unituitive forcing you to have to zoom in on a tiny square of the world map to which I didn't care as I believe I had finally gotten to the open world part before the game crashed. I honestly suspect this game is still in beta as its mechanics don't seem to work very well.
In conclusion the game doesn't work correctly, has always on DRM that is not advertised, and is missing core mechanics from the steam store advertisement. Avoid this game there are way better space sims coming down the road.… Expand

Each of the games mechanics is incredibly stupid, satellites relays only let you use 2 satellites (so Viking Era computers), you units despite being the best of the best could be out gunned by the average gun owner, the aliens tactics are practically none existent and the only challenge the game poses is when it blatantly cheats by having you soldiers miss or have aliens pull off shots that you could only hope to pull off at the end of the game with the best equipment and in your dreams.
Some of the mechanics actually do work like research and engineering but both leave you with few options and the only real challenge you will run into is running out of alloy or money which won't be awarded to you unless you have a satellite over a country.
Strangely though I don't hate the game and have garnered much enjoyment from the title but the game ultimately leaves you feeling underwhelmed and disappointing and left me wanting to play the 50s remake as that looked more intelligent and enjoyable.… Expand
