Average User Score: 8.1Sep 16, 2013If you like the concept of GTA, but don't want to be a "scum-bag" character, this game offers a great alternative. Don't assume that this is a "kiddie" game. Yes, it is a clean lego theme, but the writing is best appreciated by someone who grew up watching cop shows and action movies of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. There are tons of references to popular TV shows and movies from that era and the writing is as good as any that TT games has had.
Even after you complete the main story, it is actually very entertaining to go back and get every gold brick, red brick, costume, and vehicle unlockable that you couldn't get when your character abilities were more limited earlier in the game.
Yes, the screen loading times are very long but you just need to accept it and get over it. Think of it as a commercial break (like when watching sports) that allows you to go get drink or go to the bathroom and then you are ready for more great Chase McCain action. My only real gripe is that it does not support local multiplayer. If it had that as well, I would give it a 10.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.5Sep 16, 2013This game is a blast. The presentation is great and it makes you feel like you are in a comic book that has come to life. It is hectic and full of action that makes you want to go back and try to top your score on each level as you learn to master the controls and figure out what combos work best.
Yes, there is a learning curve but the controls are not as bad as some other reviews have stated. My guess is that they just didn't take the time to master them. I suggest that you try the demo and if the controls give you trouble, watch the youtube videos that have been posted that show how to work the combos. If you aren't great at heads-up drawing, try using the right stick to "draw" the shapes. It really is just like doing special moves and combos in a fighting game.
Once you get the hang of it, the game is brilliant and addicting.… Expand
Average User Score: 9.2Mar 22, 2013I had tried similar RTS games in the past and other than Pokemon Conquest, was never able to get into them. Fire Emblem Awakening has totally changed that. This game is gauging and addictive. The story and cutscenes add to the experience with rich graphics and a twisting plotline. However, the gameplay and the ability to build your team of characters along wtih their capabilities has you coming back for more again and again. I haven't quite made it through the entire story, but I can tell you that I will definitely be buying and playing DLC packs for this game, which is something I never do on any system.… Expand
