The game has a good UI, good weapons management system, good skills system, highly satisfiying weapons, new game plus, multiplayer mode, quite a few different enemies, but the most important thing is: Destructible scenarios. I've had lots of fun destroying everything and dropping bridges on the heads of the enemies. The magnetic gun may not be the best weapon (the firing ratio leaves it a bit behind of more powerful weapons), but tearing towers apart is certainly a refreshing experience.
The story is standard, but the characters are better than in many other games. Overall, a game very well worth the money.… Expand

The weapons are cool (the system is better than the 2 previous games), the story is nice (thought you can see the black hand of EA over it in order to make a 4th game), the graphs are awesome, and it has little mini-game like touches that improve it overall.
BUT it's named Dead Space, and it isn't. There's no terror to be found here, other than 2 or 3 moment of pure melee mob overwhelming. As an action game, i've found it to be very good. If what you want is shudering at your dark room, move along.… Expand

Yes, the business system is cool, it has the real truck brands, and the trucks are very customizable... But ohter than that, it's just driving. Not high speed driving, no, just regular driving like the same I do every day for an hour.
The graphics are meh, and the diversity of maps seems lacking. The second "mission" I took had the same map as the first one for several minutes. And they were supposed to happen in different countries.
I guess it may be nice for people working on an office who find driving relaxing, but this game isn't for me.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.1Mar 16, 2013I've tried hard to continue playing this game, but I've had enough of enemies shooting through walls. Oh, not only the first level soldiersI've tried hard to continue playing this game, but I've had enough of enemies shooting through walls. Oh, not only the first level soldiers seeing you perfectly inside the barracks, or the guy inside a locked hangar gunning you down from a car, also those "elite" soldiers later on the game running like mites and killing you through concrete walls and columns.
Ironically, low level soldiers took cover and such, this ones are so pro that run around like monkeys so you are unable to snipe them, which probably was the only satisfying weapon.
The concept of the mutants was good, but what could have been a wonderful horror game on the style of Dead Space ended up as comedically gorish as Bioshock due to sheer unability to make the mutant aparitions something unexpected or dangerous.
Good things: The game feels open, with several paths to go from point A to point B, the driving is really good, and the dificulty isn't based on rationing ammunition.
More bad things: As usual, as soon as you shoot 1 enemy, all of them in range of sigth 1 mile away will inmediately shoot at you. No stealth killing today son. The concept of the open world is cool, but there isn't anything else there for you to find anyway, doesn't matter how much you wander.
In conclusion, play this game if you like RPG type of shooters, but expect to possibly left dissapointed.… Expand
