I first started with a merchant ship and their was a guy that claimed to be a tutor yet he was asking me to shoot a crate even though I was a merchant and had no weapons.... yeah thanks for the help mate. I gave up on trading as everyone I spoke to wanted me to do a mission I couldn't do. Why make the first people you ask for a mission expect you to have a transport the size of Mars??
As I had paid money for this I felt I had to persevere and started a new 'Warrior' class and by the 3rd mission I had 3 ships and still no idea how to play the game. At one point, a split second before docking with a station, I heard an explosion and found that my Advanced Discoverer that was supposed to be following me had crashed. So even the computer doesn't know what its doing.
There seems to be a story going on in this universe but you do not feel a part of it. The game desperately needs a story arch even if you take it on or not.
If you like games that require you to study for a week before playing then this is your thing, for those of us that wanna shoot some aliens in the face or sell some luxury goods for a 1000 credit profit this is one to avoid. This game required another year of development and design.
Graphics are ok except for the silly looking faces that appear when communicating and they are not lip synched which just makes them look more silly. The radar map is probably one of the most pointless things in the game, it is dark with dark lines on a dark background and as there has been no explanation how it works you have no idea which way the enemy ship is anyway.... idiotic.
Sound is close to rubbish. Turn off the music and there is silence, no engine sound, no grinding as you slam on the brakes, nothing. In space no one can hear anything apparently.
All in all another space game that misses the mark unless you are a bean counter that doesn't mind spending hours finding out how to play.… Expand

This game appears to have been made purely for the play to win brigade and this practice needs to stop now! Star Conflict is not an mmo, it has no depth to it and anyone expecting an Elite experience will be sorely disappointed. I have done about 1000 race laps and I have seen 1 yellow flag, no crashes and certainly no safety car. Scalectrix anyone? The difficulty level has had no thought behind it whatsoever - Intermediate is too easy (P1,Q1,R1 with Caterham), Professional is annoying (Pos 19 no matter what you do). It seems Codemasters like making one thing better but apparently intentionally making another thing worse?? Weird.
They have taken out any feeling of belonging to a F1 team by using a crappy simple front end. Any feeling of me being the driver went out the window when he lifted his visor to show he had brown eyes! Imposter! That's not me! I have blue eyes. Its like Judge Dread taking his helmet off. NO!!
For once though the **** cam is actually useable which is about the only thing that has improved since F1 2010 (didn't play 2011).
Codemasters need to put more effort into F1 2013 or let someone else do it because I'm getting sick and tired of seeing an F1 title that still can't match what Geoff Crammond did in 1992! But if you're an F1 junkie F1 2012 is the best you're gonna get.… Expand

But it is not as good as it could have been which is an absolute shame. No character generation? Even EotB and BC had that 20 years ago! To cast spells you have to select buttons on a 3x3 grid which wouldn't be so bad if the buttons stayed selected, instead you have to keep re selecting each button..... gameplay suicide. Your ranged character is next to useless if you miss the bow which is in a secret area..... why ffs, then all she can do is throw rocks and a pointy bit of metal. The puzzles are well implemented if a bit nonsensical. If you are under 30 years of age you will probably hate this game but for those of us that spent hours drawing maps on squared paper this is a fun, if short lived, stroll down memory lane.… Expand

Cryptic have added more stuff since launch but have totally failed to iron out even the simplest bugs. I have made PD games since 1989 and I can see where the developers have been lazy or not thought about design. Eg planets merging with background planes. Objects placed on the skybox. Overuse of asteroids etc so Cryptic are forced to have really short pop up (just reduce the number of objects Cryptic jeez!). But the main thing that winds me up is your away team using devices out of combat..... I mean why? So here's a gameA sandbox FPS is an ambitious undertaking, one that games like Far Cry 2, although graphically awsome, never quite managed. So here's a game that can tryuly be called free roaming. STALKER has all the elements of an RPG rolled into an FPS, inventory, trade, repairing items and so on. It also has another element very rarely found in games - atmosphere. Wierd mutant creatures hiss and growl before leaping at your face.
So on paper it all sounds very good. Yet STALKER is let down by outdated code and outdated graphics. Both of which really should not be an issue whether a game is great or not. But having a jerky screen update in an FPS which requires you to be extremely accurate with your aiming is gaming suicide. Seeing 6 of the exact same character model standing around makes you feel you have entered a cloning facility. The textures look like they were made 10 years ago. I also find it odd that when the NPCs are away from you they speak in Russian yet when you interact with them they speak in English?? Either one or the other please. The missions are hardly ever clear and, indeed, part of the game seems to be figuring out what it is you are supposed to be doing. For many people, there just isn't that many hours in a day to spend wandering around aimlessly.
Some good ideas are in STALKER but unfortunately the game is let down by the execution.… Expand

Hex grids? Why? 8 directions of movement with squares, 6 with hexes..... doesn't make sense. And the graphics do not seem to fit in the hexes either, trading posts apparently require wading a mile out to sea?? There are so many glitches they cannot be named here but here's just a few : missing textures, animations that don't play, graphics that do not disappear when they should, UI corruption, and so on. The decisions the AI makes seem to be just dice rolling (I rolled a double 5 that means I'm at war with you). Diplomacy is non existent . And whenever I get to about 1950 EVERYONE goes to war with you at the same time?! WHAT? WHY? Very disappointed in this. Needless to say I shan't be holding my breath for Civ 6. I'm going now to put Civ 4 on.… Expand
