If you liked MarvelI have been playing this game for just over 3 months now in closed beta and I must say that it is a blast to play. If you liked Marvel Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Legends and Diablo, then you will probably like this game. All the heroes are fun to use and, for the most part, combat is exciting and fast paced. The combat is pretty smooth and the abilities have nice particle effects. The loot is pretty good and the itemization is much better than D3 at launch and they are in the process of implementing new loot in the near future. This is a F2P game, so expect to spend money if you want a specific hero or costume right now... but all that content drops for free in game if you are lucky.
In conclusion, this is a F2P game that will be changing and improving as time goes on. If you love the Marvel license and Diablo, give it a shot... you have nothing to lose, but hours and hours of time due to addictino.… Expand

However, for me, a huge part of a game's goodness is its aesthetics. I am in my 30's and have a family; this game has a too much T&A for my liking and seems like a cheap tactic to get hormonal challenged little boys interested in the game. It doesn't help that every character in the game is a female, so every character is over sexualized. This is disappointing for those of us who play fighting games for the competition not to get some cheap tawdry thrills off of some weirdly drawn cartoon character.
That brings me to the art design. It is clear and crisp, as are the animations, which is good. The bad is that the art design looks like it is something out of some cheap Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network anime show. Certainly not the most appealing art design for a game. I know they are trying to standout from other 2d fighters, like KoFXIII and BlazBlue, but, as a result, they end up with a bizarre art style that certainly will not appeal to all.
People try to defend this game's very small roster with the idea that more characters will come if it is successful. Notice the conditional clause. No one should EVER make a purchase based on a conditional promise, you should buy the game based on what you get out-of-the-box. That being said, in this day and age, 8 characters is just way too few. With other high quality titles available on the PSN & Live, like Street Fighter III: Third Strike OE, Skullgirls doesn't seem like a good value. Anyway, I admit this game isn't for me, and I have given some of the reasons. Its up to you though to decide by trying out the demo. Enjoy.… Expand

It's more of a fighting-wrestling game hybrid and thus many Smackdown vs. Raw fans will be confused that this game actually requires skill to play and not just button mashing and 2.) Because this game is a hybrid game, many fans of wrestling "simulation" games will complain that it doesn't have 100 different complex modes of being bored. What this game does have is over-the-top nostalgic fun that is fast and furious and certainly not plodding like other wrestling games. Once you get a hang of the gameplay, since it does have a little bit of a learning curve, you will have the time of your life. If you are intent on trying to make this game into a "simulation" game then you will ultimately be disappointed, since it is not, but if you compare this game to such games as Street Fighter IV, then you will be satisfied by the combo and reversal system, and dig the pure fun involved in just playing a simple match. This game is meant to be played competitively, which means that they have fine tuned the gameplay so that it is fun just to play a normal 1v1 match over and over again. Anyway, give the demo a shot if you are unsure, or check out gameplay videos. Those two things sold me on this game, not reviews.… Expand
