People that throwing 0's at this game don't know what they're talking about but it's definitely not a 10 (or even a 9 or 8 for that matter). It's unfortunate to see that so many people rate games as if they were mentally challenged. It would also help if people only review a game they actually own, because if they did they wouldn't be talking about "PS2 graphics". No, the graphics are not groundbreaking but the cars and their direct environment look good, stuff that's a bit further away might look a bit less impressive (I wouldn't know I don't pay much attention to it) but it's not bad up to a point where I actually notice and get bother about it. All in all, graphics are fine, I've seen much much much worse.
Gameplay: I know a lot of people that were excited about this game but then cancelled their pre-orders cause of the though (some would use the word poor) handling they experienced in the beta... problem is that the handling at the start of the game isn't that great but it does get a lot better once you progress. Later in the game when you get performance and circuit spec and some perks from the HQ, the handling really does get a lot better.
The story: I don't understand the comments on this... ok, it's a thin plot, who cares? It's a video game, a race game even, not a goddamn movie. In fact this plot is no worse than that of your average Fast & Furious movie, I bet half of the people complaining will probably be raving over the next installment from that series...
All in all I think this is quite a good game. It's a fantastic concept, the map is huge, there's large amount of collectibles to keep you busy. It's just a shame the game lacks a bit of polishing and there's some annoying bugs and glitches (getting stuck on loading screen, black screens, crew members going invisible...) which do cause a lot of frustration.
Considering the massive amount of arcade racing titles currently on PS4 (yes, this is sarcasm) this is imo just a must have for any fan of the genre. For those of you who played Test Drive Unlimited 2 and liked it, you're gonna have a lot of fun playing this one.… Expand

I liked the game a lot, not like the game is hard or anything, it's all pretty straight forward but it's more the experience and the atmosphere that makes the game special. I would give it a 9 but the ending... I finished it with a bit of a heavy feeling on my chest. Very disappointing...… Expand

Other then that everything else is the same... kind of grindy game with the 120 speedlists with probably a lot of tasks most people don't really wanna do but ye. And a really really multiplayer.
Nevertheless, for me in the end it's mostly about the gameplay and Rivals is spot on as far as that goes. I gave the PS3 version a 7, I'll bump up my score by 1 because they performance issues are gone but the bad multiplayer prohibits me from giving a higher score then that.… Expand

I've seen a lot of complaints about bugs but personally I haven't run into any. The game looks good, I liked the unique 2D-3D gameplay and most of all I liked the game setting and the vibe it was giving off. The puzzles are quite easy, some of em a bit frustrating at times but you should look at this game as more of a magical journey then just a game.
If this is the worst game we'll get for free on PSplus, it'll be money well spent.… Expand

The game has horrible performance issues, massive frame drops & freezesIf you're getting a next gen console any time soon I suggest you wait. The game has horrible performance issues, massive frame drops & freezes from time to time, reminiscent of what Undercover was like, but not quite as bad luckily. Graphics are fine... music is bad (what's new EA?) but can be overridden by a custom playlist (big plus).
Handling wise the game leans very closely towards the latest Hot Pursuit al tho the cars seem to be slightly more stable. The only issue I have here is, there's only 2 viewpoints: behind the car and in front of it. The problem is that the behind viewpoint is really BEHIND rather then diagonally above which really clutters the screen, especially when you're playing cop side and there's red & blue light all over your screen...
The part where the game really misses the ball is the multiplayer imo. The speedcams and jumps and all are nice to compare to your friends. But when comes to actually playing online against another human player there's just too much CPU involvement, really annoying.
The game is definitely worse then it's predecessor (Hot Pursuit), but let's say it's about on par with Most Wanted. Most Wanted however had a pretty good and enjoyable multiplayer AND the trophy's were set up in such a way you it was actually sort of fun to get all the billboards etc... Rivals, I fear is gonna be a massive grind to get all the way up to lvl60 which is a damn shame I just don't see how the Multiplayer is gonna stay interesting for more then an hour or so.… Expand

That's where the good part ends...
In the end the only thing important for pretty much any game is the actual gameplay... which is just so frikkin bad and to be honest that doesn't even begin to describe it:
* The game generally feels slow
* It is impossible to shield the ball from a defender
* Ball control is terrible: players randomly let the ball jump several meters from their feet,
* L1+triangle all the way again, we are back to Fifa 11/Fifa 12 style where people just spam lob over your defenders.
* Headers are ridiculously overpowered. Playing with Klose I just pretty much score every time a ball falls into the box, it's just embarrassing.
* And last but not least, they needed to fix how overpowered pace was but they completely ruined it. Van Buyten could actually keep up with Aubameyang now... regardless of pace stats, every player off the ball is faster then any player on the ball right now.
* You can make redonkulous fouls, just hang on the players shirt across half the pitch, the ref doesn't give a foul anyway.
Fifa 13 needed some polishing... Fifa 14... well, it feels like we've gone back about 10 years. Really, really REALLY bad game.… Expand

There is seriously nothing good to say about this game except for the fact that it has Maggie Q in it. Other then that: the graphics are horrible (considering Burnout Paradise is a year older, they definitely could have done a much better job), the cars drive like and the catch up mechanics in this game are ridiculous. Most of the times the random filler racers are actually harder then the "boss races" which tend to be a walkover mostly. BUT the most annoying part about this game is the engine... it is just so bad I have no words for it: massive FPS drops all over the place and worst of all sometimes you just reach the end of the road and you have to wait 5 seconds for the game to load the rest of the circuit (Yes, I'm dead serious).
Terrible game, I picked this up for €6. A part of me would say, fine for some easy trophy's but please: do yourself a favor and save yourself the frustration... it's not worth it.… Expand

All 4 One is definitely a fun game. The only thing that pull the score down for me are a huge amount of small and not so small bugs, both with the sometimes lacking AI and bugs (mostly in online mode) that prevent boss fights from going ahead to the next phase.
I did not pick up the game at launch and looking back on it after playing the game I don't think it's worth a premium either (imo almost no game is) but all in all for 10-15 bucks this is a game is still a must have for every fan of the series.… Expand
