Average User Score: 2.5Nov 7, 2013Multiplayer feels like CoD 4 and MW2. Its not dominated by killstreaks, and you have to really have to earn new weapons. Unfortunately, in order to unlock new stuff you have to complete challenges that are ridiculous, and squad points take forever to earn. That said, extinction is great, and squads is an interesting concept that I hope they continue to develop.
Single player campaign is the typical cinematic goofiness you'd expect, but at least it does have an interesting new background story.

Average User Score: 8.2May 2, 2013Quite possibly the best game you can buy for under $20 now. The gameplay is fun and addicting. It is EXACTLY what you would expect from an arcade-style shooter: nonstop shooting, blowing stuff up, and killing freakin' bugs. AWESOMENESS!!!… Expand
Average User Score: 5.3Apr 23, 2013Pros:
Its a gears game- nowadays its nearly impossible to ruin a gears game. Its fun, crazy, fast-paced, and gory. What is not to love?
Campaign- 4 player co-op locust one heckuva good time, grab a few drinks, sit down with some buddies and play through it. You won't be disappointed.
Survival- this is the best gametype in the game by far. Multiplayer doesn't have the COG vs Locust anymore, and it feels wrong to kill other gears (unless you are the locust), so I usually gravitate to this playlist. The class limitations can be annoying, but it takes skill to master them all.
Skins- good lord people, how many boxes of experience before I simply break the disc in frustration? I can literally earn hundreds of boxes and all of them be experience while my buddy plays two games and gets a copper/chrome/gold skin from the get-go. Yeah, this unlock system is terrible.
Weapons- gnasher gib-fest...every...single...game...Spawn, rush, gnasher, die, rinse, repeat...Oh and who even uses the hammerburst anymore? You'll be sniped dead by a gnasher by the time you raise your weapon to aim down the sights.
Overrun- fun as heck, but come on, the COG is no fun to play, and everybody wants to be the locust. Just a trivial thing, but a similar point unlock system as the locust would've been nice.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.3Feb 13, 2013This coming from an original dead space fan, this game plays more like "whack-a-necromorph" than dead space. Plentiful ammo, unfamiliar/complicated resource systems, and predictable ambushes are the main issues. Feels like a shooter rather than a survival horror game. Regardless, I still love this series, and I love this game. I'd get it used or at a reduced price if you aren't sure about buying it new.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.9Nov 28, 2012This game is good. The only problem is that it feels more like Halo: Reach 2 than a sequel to Halo 3. There are not many maps to play on, and every always chooses the same ones every match. The campaign is interesting and fun, and worth playing through a second time with your friends. Maybe once some DLC comes out the multiplayer will be more fun. The spartan ops is a welcome addition, but everybody still misses firefight. Overall, a good game.… Expand
Average User Score: 4.5Nov 28, 2012Campaign was boring, couldn't even get myself to finish it. The multiplayer has actually degraded over the years. I can say with a clear conscience that 90% of the players use submachine guns due to their ungodly ability to kill you nearly instantaneously without any consideration for accuracy (lazer sights) or ammo (extended magazine). I played this game for about 3 weeks, and I cannot waste any more time playing it. I've playing this series since CoD 4, and I can say with all certainty that this series is dead. Don't waste your time or money on this game. Go buy Dishonored, Halo 4, Far Cry 3, or some other title that is infinitely better than this garbage. Oh yeah, and season pass? Seriously? Is $60 once a year for the same ole garbage not enough? I'm done.… Expand
Average User Score: 3.3Nov 10, 2011Feels like CoD 4 and MW2 hashed into one game. That being said, if you don't mind spending $60 for another Call of Duty game, go ahead and buy it. There are still the same problems from MW2 multiplayer: camping, noob-tubes, small underage kids, ridiculous snowball killstreaks, and bad spawning sites. However, the campaign is a bit better than MW2 and harkens back the CoD 4 campaign many times. I like this game for the single-player campaign ONLY, which you can complete in about 6 hours. Just RENT it, do NOT buy it unless you want to pay for a bunch of new maps. Also, do NOT buy Elite, it is a waste of money, as well as the new "maps" which will most likely be re-releases of previous maps.… Expand
