The environments and sound design are absolutely breathtaking probably the best I've ever seen in any game. The enemies are varied and have a fairly intelligent AI, they scale with the more people in your fire-team and provide a great challenge this way.
The story and writing take a back seat to game-play and adventure which in my opinion is a good thing, allowing for good banter with your friends as you mow down the enemies. The RPG elements are simple yet deep and satisfying.
Competitive multi-player is also a nice surprise, it's pretty balanced for launch and the maps are really well designed, no spawning problems at all and no class or weapon is overpowered. The satisfaction from getting a clutch multi-kill with a special ability is one of the most exciting things I've encountered in a FPS multi-player in recent memory.
I'm excited to see what Bungie are going to do with DLC, a few additional worlds and mechanics is all I can really ask for at this stage, a racing mini-game in armed sparrows would be super fun and so would some kind of space combat.
I literally cannot understand the red reviews, It's quite obvious they are coming from either people who misunderstood what this game was going to be based on over-excitement from it's hefty marketing campaign or little children who suffer from some kind of mental retardation.… Expand

I am proud to say that Halo 4 is the best title in the series, it's campaign is as breathtaking as Combat Evolved's and is an absolute fan-service, delving head first into the expanded universe that has been established in the books and other Media. The story is Mature, intelligent and fun. To top this all of the multi-player side of Halo 4 has been refined to it's best. It is addictive and crisp. This game is breathtaking, full of content and an amazing first release from 343 Studios. This is a genuine 10/10.… Expand

Bethesda soft-works has created the most alive, fleshed out, deep and interesting world i have ever played in, quests and dialogue from NPC are fluent and realistic and even the most minuscule of quests have a sense of satisfaction and reality to them.
The diversity in content is amazing, literally hundreds of engaging and challenging quests ranging from taking or defending cities for the Imperials or Stormcloaks, taking contract killings, stealing Skyrim's most precious artefacts and tonnes of other personal or faction related quests, there is a lot to do.
Combat, although similar to Oblivion's, is great. Character movements and attacks feel weighted and realistic and the combinations between martial and magic is amazing. Going in thinking i was going to play a pure 'barbarian' character simply didn't happen because of the fun of spell casting.
This truly is one of the greatest games of the generation. It is hard to place scrutiny or criticism on anything in this amazingly hand-crafted open world experience. Game of the year.… Expand

The campaign offers around the same emotional impact as the last, which is just above average for a shooter, but being a game that knows it's audience well Gears 3 has delivered the best epic set pieces, levels and characters of the series.
I wouldn't have purchased this title if it was going to be the regular average campaign and multiplayer that interests you for a bit under a month that is becoming ever so common with 'triple A' titles as of late. With modes like Horde, Beast, Co-op Campaign and the ability to adjust campaign with 'skull' like options this is definitely value for money.
I am giving this title a 9 out of 10, it is a great game that has very polished and addictive multiplayer, a variety of buddy modes and a pretty lengthy and rad campaign!… Expand
