You WILL get used to the controls of this game and, when you do, you will be able to focus on the story and gameplay, which, is realy fun. This ain't a 10 score game, but it's a damn fun ride.
Did I use the word FUN allready ?
Darksiders has a..."different" story. The gameplay brings nothing new. It's just a fairly good execution of things that games like Devil May Cry, God of War and Prince of Persia (PS2 era) presented us in the past. But the story makes up for that. Well, at least if you are into apocalyptic stories and like a badass main charcater with a lot of moral fiber.
This is not a bad game. I enjoyed very much and if you like the genre, I promisse you, you WILL like this.… Expand

Some people argument that the many choices of skill are actually useless since only some of them are actually usefull. Well, I don't agree. Of course some of them are situational, but "situational" can make a pretty big difference in some missions, and those few times that it will make a huge difference is why you risk buying them. Anyway, is just a style, does that mean is bad ?
The most important aspect of this game, in my opinion, it's the atmosphere. It's immersive. You'll simply LOVE the wolrd around you. The logic of everyting and how social issues are portrayed in this futuristic wolrd are believable and quite realistic (we ARE talking about fiction, don't forget that)
The second strongest point to be quoted abou this game, it's the story. It's filled with action and also reflection. You want to get there and get things done because you want to know how the story will develop. The side missions ain't that bad, you'll have fun playing a lot of them.
The protagonist isn't the strongest point in my opinion, but you grow to like him.
The graphics are beautiful.
The gameplay... oh the gameplay. I was just surprised. I knew nothing about this game when I played it. I just went for it expecting an FPS. Well, most of the part is might seem like just an FPS, but it's actually much more than that. Using your skills in the right time, deciding if you are goin' to open fire or been stealthy makes a huge difference on the outcome and in how you feel the game.
Well, simply put, it's a very fun story, with an original construction and is, above all, a very fun ride.
But the current price you'll be finding this on Steam, you just SHOULD get it.… Expand

The sounds are, for me, a 8 out of 10. The gameplay is really really simple, but, since the premisse doesn't promisse anything more than that, I'll give it a 8 as well.
The biggest pet peeve is the fact that, indeed, some times you have to die to figure out puzzles. But been keep forgeting that is not a rule and there are guys giving this game a 0. This is bloody ridiculous. Limbo is short, simple and fun. It's entretaining and is definitely worth your 10 bucks or so.… Expand

I've cryed four times during this game. I can't tell at which parts whitout spoiling it, but, what I can say is basically I suffered something very similar to what the main character did. I will argue for days with people that say that "To the Moon"s story lacks of depth or originality. George R.R. Martin himself sayi that, these days, is not about telling a original story, but about telling a story in a way that has never been told. "To the moon" told me a story in a way that I was never told before. I would not call To the Moon as a game precisely, it's more of an interactive novel, with a few puzzles, very simple ones by the way. To the moon is a piece of art for me. It's basically a story told in a very beautiful way. I was sincerelly touched by this "game" and if you ever lost someone dear to you, I promisse you will be touched too.
This is currently 3 bucks at Steam. Please don't draw yourself away from this game just because somepeople are complaining about graphics or not allowing themselfs to be touched by simple things. Anyway, that's my opinion … Expand

You know when you WANT to like something I had that feeling when I started Deponia. The first hour or so I was amazed by the enviroment. The sounds and voice work seemed strange, but I like em anyway. The artwork is great, which helped keeping me imersed on the game but, the flaws started to came up. First of all, I fell tempted to mute the game everytime an Organon was speaking. Their voice work is hedious. Second, the puzzles are, in general, bad. Some of them don't have a sense of logic. The pace of the game might seem allright at the beggining, but then you realize it's actually kinda....random. I personally didn't think that the game is very intuitive, which makes it harder for the player to guess what to do next. Of course, it's a point and click, there can't be that many places to go and you can just high light the interactable objects, but, still, it should be more intuitive sometimes. The biggest flaw in my opinion is that our hero isn't very likeable. If I coment futher on this matter, I'l have to mark it as spoiler.
Anyway, even though I'm giving this a 5, Deponia is a fun game and it's worth to be bought on a steam promotion or something like that. I probably paid 5 bucks, and it was worth every penny. I just wouldn't spent more on it. I bought the sequel and if it has a third release (I believe is a trilogy) I'll buy it too, but also on promotions and ony if they work on the issues that make this game a bit ordinary in every aspect.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.2Mar 9, 2013This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I would give an easy 7.5 for this game, but (SPOILERS AHEAD SAILOR!!!!) the final boss made it go down to a 6.
Only made an metacritic account because of the final stage of this game. It's final boss it's absolutelly ridiculous. It feels like they didn't play it themselves. First of all, the "no gravity" factor it's cool, but the whole game you been trying to master the maneuverability of your character and that counts for NOTHING on the final level/boss. The scenary you are at is also not suitable for a boss fight of this proportion. The dude is huge and the place doesn't give you space enough to try and dodge his attacks been forced to either throw em back or wasting your flamethrower's secondary fire. Also, he "hides" behind the maps structure, where you cannot hit him. He just stops there and start spaming minions and, btw, that is the only time you can actually do damage to him (on the second creature that is). The last form/creature exploding projectile is a bad taste joke. You can't barelly pick it up, he is already tossing another one at you.
Okay, overall, I had fun. The 3 first stages are bloody easy, and then it suddenly got realy hard. It's ok, I like hard games, i'm a battletoads fan, but, Capsized makes me feel like, doesn't matter what I do, I will need luck to beat the final boss, not skill. It's hard to say good things abuout this game been so mad at it as I am right now, but it deserves some credict on a phew aspects. The enviroment is AMAZING, Until you get used to the surroundings, you start shotting everything that moves, 'cause everthing feels hostile in this planet. Which is good in my opinion, because, well, it's an unkown alien planet, it SHOULD feel that unpredictable. The music is also cool, although after a while I got tired of it, I think it might please most of the people who play the game.
Weapons, well, they are cool and I can't say that they don't serve different purposes, but I used the first weapon through most of the game (it's secondary fire is amazing).
Well, it's an nice game on the visuals, but kinda "ok" on the gameplay on my vision. One thing I am sure of: I am NEVER EVER buying a game from Alien Trap again because of that enerving boss fight.… Expand
