This comes through the dialogue and interactions that keep the game fresh and funny at some points, all though the word 'dick' is used excessively throughout which comes across as a little juvenile. Oh yeah and the 4-barrelled shotgun is an awesome gun which I never get tired of juggling crazy locals in the air, because I am a sicko like that.
But the main issue of this game is the fact the mechanic, although kinda fresh, feels a little flawed at some points because it only really works best when you are overrun with freaks. The multi-player got boring after the first couple hours because it is only the survival mode which is seen throughout shooters nowadays. I like survival and all that with my friends but the idea of having to make an arbitrary number of points before passing a wave feels really boring, oh and its pretty hard to die on 'Bulletstorm' so it feels like they have taken everything outdated about the wave mode and then taken out all the good bits, this is where the mechanic falls short and ultimately broken.… Expand

The soundtrack is minimal and a bit too sombre for the quirky style of the game for my liking, I say this because 'Double Fine' have fun and entertaining games but the sound design fell a bit short, as in the fact I was hoping for some upbeat 1930s-esq (could be a bit off with the era it is portraying) tune in there somewhere through the adventure. It was a fun ride but a short one and I cant help feeling that they held back on the puzzles, because there is so much potential for the mechanic of the game. The pricing was a bit steep, but none the less a charming adventure-puzzle game.… Expand

This game is wonderful, it feels to me as a mix of 'Abe's Oddysee' and the Zelda games, you would be crazy not to check this out at this ridiculously low price on the XBLA.… Expand

There is aFirst impressions when you look at 'ilomilo' is the style, the colourful and somewhat bohemian style are a easy on the eyes. There is a different soundtrack for each different world and is constantly refreshing and relaxing. The game is pure 3 dimensional puzzles, this means there are no health bars, plat-forming or skill involved which may be a turn-off to some. From having completed indy games such as 'Braid' and 'Limbo' I thought I was average more or less at puzzle games, the later levels prove to be very challenging and only truly great minds will complete it first time without having to come back.
My only gripe with the game was the camera, it always seems to be either too far away or too close when toggling between the views with the Y button, also it moves at ninety degree angles and is not as flexible as I would of hoped and therefore caused me some motion sickness after a couple hours.
