It reallyIt is such a shame that a lot of people are giving such bad reviews just because the developer had an opinion you disagreed with. It really shows the true face of the internet, an **** Do you feel invincible behind your screen? Do you enjoy hurting one another? You are the cancer of the internet, you do not deserve it. As for my review of this game, its god damn amazing. I'd like to address the negative points that are being told. People are claiming it to be just a simple flash game, with no challenge, no objective and just a gimmick holding it together. It is far from simple. There is a HUGE amount of challenge, you just haven't realised it. The intention of the game was to create a non-threatening environment to explore. You respawn when you fall for a reason, there are no enemies, no bosses for a reason. The game encourages you to explore at your own pace. It gives you a simple objective of collecting cubes, but its up to you to find the new clue, and to solve the puzzle that is Fez. The game is nothing short of fantastic. It had me writing sheets of symbols down to try and solve it, sheets of ridiculous theories that made just a tiny bit of sense in my brain. I kept searching and finding more clues, just this game did not hold my hand, it set me free into its world. The presentation is also great, the visuals are very clean and crisp, and the environments are beautiful. The music is astounding and definiately one of Disasterpeace's best albums to date. Its simply gorgeous. I haven't come across any bugs or crashs like a lot of people are complaining about, little hiccups here and there are the worst of my experiences. Please do not trust the negative reviewers, they are simply trying to hurt, destroy, our internet.… Expand

So the whole idea of usingI love donkey kong but this game definiately isnt the greatest dk title. thankfully though its better then konga. So the whole idea of using the bongos for a platformer seems bizarre and, it is really. but it somehow works, it is quite good fun even. Graphics: Not great, could be a lot better, but there are some nice environments even if they were copied and pasted. Sound: Not very memorable, it has its classic dk tunes but lacks what other dk titles have. The sfx and what not are quite nice and fit nicely.
Story: Its DK so imma leave this.
Gameplay: It seems a little negative but really its all down to this. Its good fun, the new way to control feels a little odd at first but weirdly becomes natural quickly and really is a breath of fresh air. i have to say though, on multiple occasions i had torn skin off my finger. i was not playing aggresively so i may just have weak skin. this was frustrating tho as it meant i couldnt play for at least another 2 days. The game is short but made me want to complete it and get it over with near the end. this was probably due to not much variety in levels. saying that i think the riding the bull levels were the most fun ive had in platforming since the karts in dkc.
So the gameplay makes up for its "meh" other categories. So i give it an 8.… Expand

The reason is because they got their new ipod or iphone and have a cool reason to play video gamesThis game is a non-gamers favourite game. The reason is because they got their new ipod or iphone and have a cool reason to play video games and so the very basic and generate game angry birds for whatever took off. Im going to review it like a normal game though.
Story: Cant really mark it down, but its quite boring and doesnt feel engaging in the slightest, the free updates continue to become more and more unoriginal.
Graphics: Its a smooth flash game, theres no attempt at anything special.
Sound: The theme sound is very bland and the constant screaming of birds is annoying.
Gameplay: Very basic, some people say its strategic. its not, oh god its not. its very flawed, very flukey and i really cant understand how it is addictive. the star rankings are pure luck, and sometimes the trial and error just becomes boring when you have done it a hundred times before.
Innovation: I see very little creativity and innovation in this game, its a copy paste of a flash game with a repaint with birds and pigs. I feel bad for people who think this is a good game, where have you been for the last 25 years!!! It is "A BIT" of fun and thats all it will ever be. please stop funding this disgrace to gaming history.… Expand

So, this game, this freakin game. Lets start with the graphics: AbsolutelyIm basically reviewing snes and gba here so bare that in mind.
So, this game, this freakin game. Lets start with the graphics:
Absolutely stunning, think back to when snes games were all sprites and then wabam 3d sprites :O and i must say they looked good, i much prefered this style to early ps1 games (im looking at you ff7, you ugly game). it was groundbreaking and it looked beautiful.
There are no words to describe the absolute epicness of David Wise's soundtrack. it is sooooooo so goood, and i still listen to it today. very memorable tunes, for me, more so then mario. Story:
Well there really isnt a lot of depth to it, but it is completely unfair for me to mark it down for this. its a platformer its fun, and hey the characters are great and memorable so i guess it did, would it tried, well.
Soooooo much fun, i can play this game for hours on end. it is the smoothest platformer known to man. its pure fun, well actually dkc 2 is on the challenging side towards the end, so it isnt all fun. but it can become boring quickly if the game doesnt become harder. the only thing i can think that could of been better is the copy paste of bosses, which i can deal with.
Remember this game came out in the 90s so bare that in mind. Well in my opinion it set the boundary for future platformers, it is the what platformers strive to create and fail. it is "better then mario" i said it. sure mario is absolutely create too but for me dkc just feels much much nicer.
score is around 9.7 the reason it didnt get the 0.3 is for a certain something it is missing but may or may not of been in the sequel.… Expand

Well even though i clocked around 150 hours in total into this game, i can still see a lot of flaws. The storyline is great but it has the classic "WTF" square enix feel, and can become confusing. on my second playthrough i understood a lot better however. the graphics, well they are absolutely stunning and theres no question to that, the different areas are all very well designed and unique, unfortunately though my xbox copy lost framerate in the open world area. not sure what went wrong there, ive seen bigger worlds play better in other games. the sound is absolutely amazing and possibly my favourite part of the game. the soundtrack is possibly my favourite ff to date! but whilst still on sound, the voice for vanille became annoying fast. finally the gameplay, well there is a lot of debate on this. some people absolutely despise this game because of its linearity. but through my eyes i can hardly tell the difference between any other jrpg. all jrpgs are linear, they are all story driven. i guess too many people have been playing open world rpgs, that they forgot the structure of a jrpg. sure ffx had the airship, near the end of the game. xiii has the portal near the end of the game, no difference. as for combat, a lot of people are giving this grief aswell. they say its basic and dumbed down. i admit it starts slow but it has to, or it will confuse all of the new audience, which it did gain btw. id didnt annoy the first time around as i was locked into the story. anyway the battle system becomes very enjoyable as the game progresses and becomes quite hectic in boss battles. i for one think it was a brave move by square and i personally really enjoyed it. so my final score is around 8.3 as of course it could of been better, but gave it a good shot. lets see if they improve with xiii-2.… Expand
