I can see this game evoling that I hope that with another installment there is more expansive levels, competitive modes (cop vs robbers). Even though some of the game play here is receptive, and police ai are nothing more that overwhelming. The idea that is put forth is solid.… Expand

I made a review and then I believe it was deleted by Metacritic because it was too harsh. Here's my second attempt. I am giving this game a 5 now, before it was a 3. I will not talk much about the campaign expect those who think the campaign is worth playing are deluded. My first question why are there infinite amount of enemies in all Call of Duty games, I ran into several spot in the game where I would clear and area of enemies reload and look back to see new enemies magically appear; and repeat and repeat. Other times I was able to go through entire missions without even firing a shot. Why wouldn't Infinity Ward make it so theyâ… Expand

I would not be surprised if the proceeds for this game are going to the legal team that is being built to attack the creators of the Call of duty franchise Jason West and Vincent Zampella. I am sure that Robert Kotick is rolling in my money right now laughing to himself. But now on to the game am I supposed to be to amazed by. There is an argument in the gaming world if Battlefeild or Modern Warfare 3 will beat out the other in the long run. From what I have played of both of them; I would like it if a third party came along and destroyed them both. What ever that means I don't know. Graphics: I can't complain. Some very stunning moments, but I did get some strange texture pops.
Design: The reason I am giving this game a 4 is because at least there are somethings that do work. The twitch gameplay is what we've all come to expect from this developing company. Level Design: Signle player linear and boring. This is ridiculous, I just feel like I am being led by the hand and shown all the same enemy over an over. Multiplayer level Design: Are you kidding me. The release maps are all basic grid based square maps with some objects to provide minimal cover. There is something about all the maps that feel like claustrophobic hallways. Even the "open air" sniping maps seem small and cramped. Why can you not jump up on boxes that are knee height, but dumpster can be mounted easily?
Controls: Nothing to complain about here. Sound: Nothing to complain about here.
Conclusion: Next time when the hype is such that a company will spend good money two months before to promote the next "big" game. I will think twice. I think that consumers were thinking that this game was going to be some "new" an "amazing" experience that would keep there hopes up about the business. Unfortunately this game does not seem "new" the aspect of "amazing" seems to be some where in the past successes of this pony. Nostalgia is a good selling point.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.0Mar 17, 2011I am really waiting now only for games that are triple a titles and are reviewed positively great before I buy them. So many times I betI am really waiting now only for games that are triple a titles and are reviewed positively great before I buy them. So many times I bet consumers like myself are roped into the hype of a game. Homefront is such a game that professes to be new an innovative. It's all hype don't believe it. Even as I write this I want to go and un-reserve all the games that I have held for upcoming year, based solely on this game. I bought Bulletstorm on a whim and was surprised at how good it was. I was not as "lucky" this time. Graphics: The obvious is that this game looks old and outdated. When playing the multiplayer there are times even on a 55" plasma when both Korean Forces and American Resistance look extremely similar. They both look blocky and underdeveloped. The only way I didn't shoot my team mates what because of the giant green name tag that in design flaw manner would block my vision of enemy behind it and then; pop, dead because of a name-tag. Not only this in single player mode people seemed to be floating over the ground. There are no shadows made from sentry guns spotlights. During the campaign when laying in a mass grave hiding from the KPA clipping issues of being able to see through dead bodies really took me out of the game. This list of terrible graphics could take up my post. Design/game-play: I love it when developers decide they want to slow down the action and express some storyline. Expect when they actually slow my character to that of the speed of a mentally defunct snail on heroine. Oh yes lets explore this small community of rebels hideout, I swear it took me fifteen minutes to walk 30 feet. Invisible walls, all the while the A.I. is telling me to hurry up and get to the next check point. The A.I. is terrible, sometimes standing for minutes at time at a door; unable to go through it. Before allowing me to move to the next part, many times I would have to listen to mindless terrible script. In the multiplayer being dropped by unreliable servers is apparently part of the atmosphere of game; as much as I can figure anyway. The game-play of multiplayer is outdated, a few innovations from battle points, drones, create a class, and many different perks do little to help. The shoddy spawn points several times I would spawn in-front of enemies and would have to wait spawn again. Sound: Don't even get me started, can't even here my gun shoot everything sounds far away. This is not what I expect wearing 5.1 surround sound headphones. The theme music is loud enough to drown out every other sound. C'mon.
Conclusion: Ripped off, wait for some other game that doesn't suck. Great I just realized I spent 60 dollars for nothing.… Expand

You would've have thought thatI have three complaints with game. 1 Why is single player and multi-player like playing two separate games. You would've have thought that both developers would have had a chance to see how different each game was before they launched it. 2 Horrible spawn system in multi-player, there have been many occasions where either I was spawn camping or was being spawn camped. No reason that I should fear spawning and dying immediately upon doing so, sometimes several times in a row. 3 Explosives are weaker than pistol fire, so many times launching a rocket into a group of enemies only to have them turn around and kill me, no need to use c4 or noob tube because they don't actually kill anything anyway. Also I love you when you throw c4 i just drops ground, you can launch a grenade across the map but c4 is pulled down by earth amazing gravity. I will definitely be buying COD: black ops now. I was wanting a way out of the monster that activision has created, I guess I will have to wait for Brink for any hope of that.… Expand

Both times I've played them I felt cheated forI find that f.e.a.r. one and 2 should be stricken from the records of gaming in general. Both times I've played them I felt cheated for spending my time playing them. The reason for this was a lack of planning on the developers side. I liked the game play, the graphics, the atmosphere; but in both games I got to one point of the game where I ran out of ammo and could not progress nor could I go back to find ammo that had been dropped (This happened on normal). I spent hours trying to inch-forward only to be destroyed by any grunt who had a drop on me. It's hard for me to give any good credit when a core aspect of a game such as having bullets in which to shoot enemies some how falls by the way side. Plus the fact that I felt the multi-player to be bland and out dated for its time, and obvious add on. But seriously most games I play I try my hardest to beat, and to challenge myself with hard difficulty levels. So getting to a point where I was out of ammo made me feel out of options. I could not sneak around enemies nor find other option in which to subdue them. So fear goes back on the self with all the other games I've rented… Expand
