(The last part assumes the player knows the backstories as well) Also, there HAS to be something said for playing s Galactus!
Bad: If you had MVC3, you'r buying almost the same game again. The AI can get really "Cheap". The money grab for DLC costumes (when they are already in the game they just want your $20 to unlock them). Some of these characters can be retired and have new ones bought in. I'm looking at you Morrigan.
Summary: If you like the "versus" games (and a extra $40 in case you have MVC3) you can't go wrong here. The game does need some tweaks and re working, but it's a graphically fun button masher with just enough skill needed to play and enjoy for months.… Expand

As an MMO, there is nothing new here and some puzzling design decisions (no customizable UI?). Graphically, average. Levelling up? Average. Story? Depending on your class, it can be quite good.
Essentially what you have is a average MMO with a good story. However, when you factor the rumored budget the game had and the fact that it's Star Wars, average doesn't cut it. My advice (if you just HAVE to have Star Wars): Play the class you like for the first month, then cancel and montior it for patches.… Expand

While it is free to download and play, the "game" doesn't quite have its own identity. Is it a flight sim? Is it a MMO with airplanes? Graphics are better than default FSX, but not better than almost every "A" PC game title today.
One thing I do know: It's not appealing enough for its target audience. MS wants millions to buy their DLC, but I'm pretty sure that will not be happening based on the game being a hybrid genre.
In 2012 it is an insult to release airplanes with no **** Think about that. A Flight sim or game with airplanes and no ****.. The only game I can compare that to is PilotWings and the Nintendo offering is far more fun. Afterall, there is no ambiguity as to what PilotWings is.
Graphically better than default FSX. Replyablility? If you like doing "jobs" (sort of like random repeatable quests) then you might call this category average. Fun? That depends on you, but if you are approaching this as a flight sim fan there is none of the following: ATC, AI traffic, airliners, or autopilot. This game appeals to GA "low and slow" but even then there is only Hawai'i to fly in so that has to get boring quickly. Alaska DLC scenery has been announced, but no release date as of this writing.
The game is relying on people to purchase DLC by the droves. In this endeavour, IMO, MS has chosen poorly. Since the game is free there is no risk to DL it, but don't expect it to blow you away.… Expand

I'm awarre of why the game needs the inernet, but I do not agree with it.
The game is very "loot-centric". If you do not go in expecting an award winning plot then you should be fine with the story. The graphics are just OK with some of the backgrounds looking very good. (This is fine as Blizz has to appeal to mid to lower end systems). Replayability seems fair as you may try out each class, but the levelling up process (and most of the game) are fairly linear.
Its a good game that you will get several hours of enjoyment from, but it's not the be all and end all of action RPGs. Let the game appeal to your inner warmonger and play this to hack, slash, pillage and hopefully have some mindless fun!… Expand
