The story, while starting off simply, has a predictable plot-twist, and soon tangents off into a massive race for some Giant relics, I genuinely felt like nothing I did was pointless, and enjoyed the simplistic, yet interesting storyline. The gameplay is solid, fun and original (you start with barely any health, and have to increase your health bar using relics) yet becomes infuriating towards the end, due to awful checkpoints and awful enemy-you balance. However, the difficulty of the game has a smooth, subtle curve. Visually, it's beautiful, there are some framerate issues, but overall it's stunning. Don't listen to the reviewers, on this one anyway.… Expand

This game talks about DeathAn amazing Cerebral game, with deep and interesting storytelling, great dialogue, fun gameplay and very original. This game talks about Death better than Red Orchestra and yet the game remains subtle and mysterious, not telling you anything about the game's true meaning, and letting you figure it out for yourself. Sadly damaged by awful touchscreen controls, and frustrating framerate skip in places, probably because it's an iOS game. Still a must buy, and my fifth favourite game of 2013.… Expand

STORY - Gone Home's story is nothing out~Please note, that I have only seen a Let's Play of Gone Home, and have not actually played it~
Gone Home's story is nothing out of the ordinary, and consists of a girl called Katie coming home to see her parents after travelling the world. When she returns, they are missing, and she has to try and find out what happened to them. It sounds a bit like a plot from NCIS, even though it's a setup for something truly different, yet sadly becomes easy to predict what happened to Sam Greenbriar very early into the game. It's not particularly unique, but it portrays what it's trying to get through beautifully.
Much like a lot of "Walking Simulations" (Adventure games, as we used to call them), the gameplay is extremely basic and slow-paced. It involves you finding a series on letters from your sister, as well as side-clues to help you figure out what's going on. The gameplay isn't the core focus, but it's still functional. No issues here.
Graphically Gone Home is quite nice. It looks fairly cartoony for the most part, and has a nice amount of detail on everything. The lighting effects are basic, but atmospheric, and it all looks very clean and well done, with a couple of badly textured areas.
Gone home isn't for everyone, but if you like Adventure games, you'll be right at home here. Don't be fooled by thinking it's a horror game (Which may have been why some were disappointed, looking through Metacritic), it's actually a very heartfelt and beautiful game, that I strongly recommend, however, I understand that this game isn't for everyone.
-Nice graphical style
-Fairly good detail
-Voice acting is really good
-Some poorly textured areas
-A little too short.… Expand

The graphics are mindI got this little gem a few days ago, and am currently on level 4-4, and so far the game has been nothing but amazing. The graphics are mind blowing, as the last time I played a 3DS game it looked pretty dismal, however, I'd argue this looks better than "Adventure Wii" which is a full console release! The 3D effect is disorienting, as always, but you can turn that off :). The gameplay is the best in a Kirby game for 22 years, when "Kirby's Adventure" for the NES was released. This is easily the best Kirby game since then! For the most part, the levels are basic as basic can be, except feel less linear, and encourage exploration. Some of the levels have multiple paths, and a lot have traps around every corner. The level design, and enemy design is an endearing as always, too. The new powers are awesome, with the addition of Hypernova, which is the greatest ability in any Kirby game, ever. The plot is nowhere near as dark as the other Kirby great, Kirby's adventure, in which the star rod had been stolen and tainted with dark forces, making the people of dreamland have nightmares, and kirby had to rescue it, replace it in the fountain of dreams, and defeat the dark forces on "Nightmare" (Who could be Zero's dad :p). In this game, however, DeDeDe has been captured, but let me ask you, why the hell does Kirby want to save the evil, corrupt leader of Dreamland? He's been trying to defeat him, and mostly succeeding, for the past 26/27 years, and now they're suddenly friends!? What the hell Nintendo? Thank god plot isn't exactly an important feature in modern Kirby games :p. Also, I ask, why are Waddle dee's and others of DeDeDe's minions wanting to foil Kirby? It makes very little sense, but does it have to? No, no it doesn't.
10/10 would Kirby again.… Expand

The new systems feel broken (Mind control makes teleporter obsolete, hacking is OP) and have risen the game's difficulty hugely. You now earn more scrap which is annoying, as it isn't spread out. You just earn lump amounts of scrap in certain places. Luckily for all of us, the developers know their stuff, and gave us a choice to play with or without it. I'd recommend having that permanently turned to off.… Expand

Graphically it's stunning, from the textures to the lighting/particle effects, everything looks crisp and beautiful, this, however, tanks the PS4s limited hardware, and causes framerate issues from time to time. The controls are tight, and the climbing is significantly better than inFamous 2's. The story is pretty great, and the SR3-like territory system is right at home here. The upgrade system is vastly improved, and the ability to switch between power-sets is very impressive. The gameplay is very good, with loads of story missions, many things to do on the side, and a massive open world to explore. However, this game still has it's drawbacks. It has it's fair share of pointless bosses, as well as numerous camera issues, and I even got stuck in the terrain once or twice. Overall, Second Son is a must have for any PS4 owner, and one of the most immersive console experiences to date (The online stuff is pretty cool too, honest).
