Average User Score: 7.1Dec 25, 2013I just recently got this for Christmas and at first I wasn't too sure, but after awhile you can see why the user reviews are pretty high! But let me start off by saying...
- It isn't amazing
- It isn't revolutionary
- ...and it isn't a major leap from its downgraded 3ds sister
+ ...but it is good, really good.
When you first start off its very closed, you don't get a good feel of it, but the more you progress the more it goes to show how well of a game it is.
+ The boss fights are really well done and they do progressively get more challenging and even the easiest is fun.
+ The side scrolling works especially for a batman, surprisingly.
+ The touchscreen controls feel right (and if you get stuck remember it can help).
+ The story is interesting enough, enough to were I sometimes laughed and kept going that little bit extra.
+ The map is separated into 3 main locations, unlocking gadgets in each one and revisiting each occasionally to progress through the story or to find a hidden unlockables, while not feeling to "backtracky" and giving a sense of openness and choice.
+ Enemies don't respawn.
+ Its fun.
Overall the game is worth an 8 in my eyes, I'm really enjoying it and I'm glad I got it for Christmas hope this helps!… Expand
Average User Score: 8.5Aug 4, 2013I've been sitting on this game for a while now, and at first I was unsure but giving it a second chance I can say I really like it.
So at first you'll notice the art style, its very anime and it works well for the vita. Beyond that you'll upgrade yourself from kicks to falling speed, and a lot more. You'll fight on the ground and you'll fight while floating, you'll slide to enemies to give them a powerful blow, you'll throw stuff at them with your gravity stasis, you'll unlock parts of the city like a factory or a bridge to access challenges, you'll collect gems, you'll talk to citizens, you'll do a lot of stuff and it all works in an enjoyable way.
Besides that the game doesn't quite reach the vita's full potential but it is a damn enjoyable game and should be played by all vita owners.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.5Jul 4, 2013Loving the original, I was pretty excited for this DLC. Although this isn't as great it's still pretty damn good.
My issues with this are that it feels almost a waste to have it short, running you below 2 hours for the 5 mini episodes.
In the original the choices you made to me were realistic in a sense, that in that situation these actions are the things running through your head, yet in this DLC they seem a little off.
The final flaw to me is re-used assets, although I know this is just DLC and it is made to bridge season 1 and 2, and that anybody would expect them to focus on season 2, you still will see a face that looks similar to someone on season 1 or you may even notice a stock sound, its something small but i thought i should point it out.
Overall these may seem off putting, this DLC shouldn't be. Its short but sweet and if you loved the original you should more than check it out, especially with the price. To me its just something to fill our fixes, to gives tell us another set of stories from this fantastic video game world TellTale have created.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.8Sep 26, 2012You know how with handheld games you'll play for a short amount of time then turn it off? well LittleBigPlanet Vita isn't one of those games. This game is just like a console game where you can probably play for quite a few hours. Plus on a side note, this game looks spectacular on the Vita, that its a lot like the console versions. Now with that said, it isn't just a full copy, it is its own game, and all the touchscreen controls and other features that seem off when implemented in other games work well here. And so with all the content and user generated levels and mini games etc, this makes one hell of a LittleBigPlanet title and definitely one you should consider.… Expand
