It has some flaws in the narrative and Hiccup kinda lost part of the magic he had on the first film, maybe to make him more mature, but nothing terrible, it gave the chance to other characters to shine.
The heartbreaking scene of the film (Stoick's death) , it has many feelings, not only his father died, he died because of his best friend, it's so dark and bitter that they needed a "goofy" scene after it to distract kids from crying and don't get traumatized, it works great, I witnessed some examples while watching the movie, kids crying because of the scene and then they stopped, that is the point of the goofy Baby-Dragon scene). I was thinking that if this film was made by Disney or Pixar it would end up in a tragic cliché, like magic dragon tears that will bring Stoick back to life, after all,"All dragons have secrets"... right?
A visually stunning movie with an amazing soundtrack and good new dragon designs (that could be better in some cases) will get your attention (and your kids´) every moment. Let's hope they don't destroy the magic of two good movies in the third movie.… Expand

First the screenplay is just delicious in many aspects and scenes, visually good, Johanson being just a voice over character is great, Amy Adams amazing as usual and it has a good slap in the face on what our society is turning into. It's NOT a perfect movie, it has flaws, it lacks a little bit of credibility from Joaquin Phoenix and it may be tedious in some scenes for some people. I'll give a 10 just because it's my personal favorite of 2013.
While many will say "Why is he falling in love for a computer?" well I saw it as a satirical, sad and even creepy criticism of what we are becoming as society, "Techno-Zombies". Somehow people don't realize that the way Phoenix's character looks on the film (dumb, loser, zombie, etc.) was the point of his character, they exaggerate (or maybe not) how society looks nowadays and where is going. And people remember, if the shoe fits, wear it, if not then you will not be offended by my statement.
What it's real? what is just an illusion? Is it possible to mix both somehow like Samantha? (I think no, that's why I feel sorry for Phoenix's "lame" character in the entire movie) I think this movie has been overshadowed by overrated movies that used "Star power" to hype people (I'm looking at you American Hustle). If you are not a "script freak" or you don't like movies that kinda make you uncomfortable or you are in love with your cellphone and may get offended somehow (which I respect, everyone can be the way they want to be), don't watch Her. (But I recommend everyone to listen "The Moon Song", it's good.)… Expand

A sweet story with an amazing performance by Dench and great script, that may get mad some people because is honest on what the religious hypocrisy is all about, maybe it needs more honesty (yes, more) and more Dench, still I love the movie. What I don't like isThis movie is one of many examples that sequels are better than the original, even when this is more about S.H.I.E.L.D. What I don't like is that it has some really slow parts and some clichés. The pros are that the action scenes keep you awake, it's logical (most of the time) and has good narrative. This year is a good year for Marvel and they are not wasting their time, along with "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" I consider this movie, one of the best Marvel movies.… Expand

I mean... Does MUSICAL says anything to you? and 2) Many people say it's a "copy" from the Lion King don't realize that if we compare all the movies the way they do, 99% of the movies ever made will be a "Copy". Please don't use that argument, it's just dumb.
Let's be critical here. I liked the movie, it's not awesome, but it's good, you can't say it isn't good or else you'll not be objective. Disney follows their predictable formula on story telling, yes, it has a nice final and different touch in message when the "charming prince" turns out to be the "bad guy" so that is new for Disney.
In characters, Elsa, it's probably one of the best characters ever created in a Disney movie (I'm talking about her as an individual character) and, as I said before, the Charming Prince being not so charming is a good addition. The characters I really dislike were the trolls, the design is just plain, they could have done something better with their story and design, I personally hated them, specially their song, it gives nothing to the storyline, the lyrics are not good, nor the composition, it's just basic.
Overall the songs are not iconic, except for the obvious two "Do you wanna build a snowman?" and "Let it Go", this last one having a great composition, you should listen to it with your best headphones to discover the greatness of this song and of course, the kinda cheesy, but empowering lyrics.
So if you like musicals and animated movies with good visual effects, watch Frozen. If you don't like musicals and Disney, just stay away from it.… Expand

Maybe itAs someone who actually read the comic, I was a little pessimist about this film after I watched the trailers, but I was wrong. Maybe it doesn't follow the comic step by step, maybe it has some flaws, maybe they don't explain everything (like Kitty having Rachel's powers) I think it deserves an 8 but since I consider it the best X-men movie and erases the HORRIBLE mistakes done on "The Last Stand" I'll give it a +1. This is not another film where Wolverine is the main character in a Xmen movie, as we have seen in X1, X2 (Which I like, both) and The Last Stand (Which I dislike... a lot) each character has their own magic in the time they appear, except maybe Storm who was a little absent in the film, but it probably was because of Berry's pregnancy.… Expand
