Average User Score: 3.4Nov 19, 2011This game looks like crap anyways. I'm not keen on prejudgment, but it just does.
I wouldn't try it for $2.
Don't get me wrong though, I loved Monkey Island, and like some of the Back to the Future game. Still in hopes that they can make the Walking Dead game good enough so they won't have to post reviews on metacritic just to gain sales.… Expand
Average User Score: 3.1Nov 10, 2011Only reason this game gets a 7 from me(I'd give it a 7.5), is because they are still using Host Migration when they have been making plenty of money to use dedicated servers. That and there are still quite a few bugs they need to kink out.
Everything else, is exactly what I expected. I never bought into the hype, and came out satisfied.
Spec Ops missions are where this game truly shines though, Kill Confirmed is my new favorite mode now too.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.1May 14, 2011I don't get it. I just don't get it.
This is the first game that I can absolutely assume(and not second guess) that reviewers were paid off to make this game what it is. Either that, or they're blinded by the almighty reign that is CoD, and automatically have a biased view on it.
GamePro says: "Ludicrously deep multiplayer experience".....Are you f*$&in kidding me? The killstreaks only go to 11, the weapons loadout is hardly any more massive than it's predecessors, game modes are the same, etc. etc......a near carbon copy of it's predecessors with one exception....COD Points and the Wager matches.
Graphics aren't anything to gawk at either. Character animations are lifeless and comically poor. Hit detection is THE WORST I've seen in years. Match-making is a joke(coming from a PS3 user though), with a constant nag for separating your party game after game. Lag is very prevalent, although that's what you get for having User-Hosted games. The maps are mediocre in my opinion, nothing yet has amazed me about them.
It's not 100% bad, and I don't hate the game. I'm pretty upset with it's success leading to my favorite developers trying to reach their hands in the CoD formula cookie jar. That's what has me insanely confused on how any of these reviewers can dismiss these faults, and ultimately give the game a 9-9.5.
I like to be fair and unbiased as much as possible, and I just can't give any of these reviewers the benfit of the doubt on most of their claims. Has me ultimately believing they were paid off.
Besides it's faults....the only reason I still have this game is because of Zombies. My friends have the game, they like zombies, so we have a good time with it.
If it didn't have Zombies, I would've traded this game in already. But don't get me entirely wrong, throwing tomahawks and using the Ballistic knife can be fun. I did enjoy playing the game, before I got bored with it, but it's just enrages me, again, on how this game has garnered such a success.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.3May 2, 2011I'd like to be kind here, but I just don't understand where some of the reviewers are coming from. Golem's cave perhaps? It is not tactical in the least bit. Run, shoot, ooh creepy, shoot, ahh look at that! shoot, yeah! give him the chainsaw! shoot.
I returned it for a full refund a day or 2 after I purchased it. They asked me why I would do such a thing, and I told them what I'm telling you now. They put a lot of effort into this game, and a lot of detail, but it has been way over-hyped. Primarily because of how gritty and cool it looks(I admit that at least). But tactical? Nah. Maybe if taking a dump is tactical for you.
In all fairness, I thought it was a cool game, and the 2nd one is much much better because of online and horde mode, but I'm surprised this franchise has gotten to where it is now. Did not see it coming.
Like I said though, it's enjoyable, but completely not complicated.… Expand
Average User Score: 3.7May 2, 2011A mushy turd. The kind you step when you walk on the beach barefoot. Green moss-infested seagull scum. Getting it for free was too high of a price, I want the time I wasted back. Save your money. In all fairness though, it's challenging to get all the trophies for it. But it's just not worth it, even if you're a trophy hunter. It's not fun at all, it has nothing to do with Dead Space besides the tie-in with the story. And come to think of it, I feel bad for whoever had to write the story for it. Now their credited with it.
I'm kind of burying this game, but honestly, who thought this would be a good idea? Find that guy and fire him. Give him a slap across the face too.
Call his mother and ask her if he was dropped on his head, then email me to so I can rest in peace knowing what gave this project a green-light.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.7May 2, 2011This game captures you from the start. Gameplay mechanics much the same as GTA, so no amazing fun their. The immersion of this game is priceless....from the main story to side stories to hunting Legendary Animals. The greatest Wild West game to date. They need to start on a sequel as soon as L.A. Noire hits the shelves.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.9May 2, 2011Without a shred of doubt, the greatest game I have ever played. There's never been anything that can compare. I'll never forget how much fun I've had with this game, just as much as I'll never forget how much it socially crippled me. This game became a drug. Therein, deemed as Socrack.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.2May 2, 2011The online is where it's at for me. Granted, it is much different and more accessible than previous Socoms, but I still feel like I'm playing Socom. Zipper is good with patching games so any bugs are being fixed(don't count Confrontation, ZIpper didn't make that one). The multiplayer camera is completely revamped from the SP view, which is great. I'd much rather be playing this than CoD. The online Rush Hour map is just euphoric. It's massive, there's many pindown points, and it's a blast to play on respawn....something I thought I'd never say with a Socom game. This game's online is where it excels, everything else is very bland and forgettable. Nowhere near better than Socom 1 or 2, but better than 3 and CA in my book, as far as multiplayer is concerned. I say rent it, $60 is too much to gamble with on video games. I also think the graphics are amazing on my HD Toshiba. It's not Killzone or FFXIII quality, but you can tell there was a lot of work put into detail. Most of the reason this game is getting such bad reviews is because of how much the series has changed. Most veterans of the franchise are having a sitdown in attempt to reinvigorate what Zipper used to mean to them. That, and there aren't any Navy Seals in this game lol. It should've been called NATO: Special Forces in all honesty, kidding aside. Granted, am I a bit disappointed with what Socom 4 has become? Yeah. I was hoping that Zipper was more down to earth and wouldn't attempt to tap into the CoD demographic. But I can't deny I have fun playing this game. That's where it counts for me.… Expand
