The season opening was arguably one of the best so far. The closing 6 episodes delivered a satisfying conclusion and set season 7 up neatly.
The season did have some weak points, especially Food Chain and Water Park Prank.
Top favorite episodes: Escape from the Citadel; Joshua and Margaret Investigations; Evergreen; Dark Purple
Episodes I also really loved include Princess Day; Is That You; The Visitor; You Forgot Your Floaties
I feel like if you enjoyed season 5, this season would probably be to your liking as well.
Anyways, I love Adventure Time dearly. I think season 6 wasn't without its flaws, but it still managed to keep me guessing, to make me laugh and feel. And so, I'd give this season a rating of 8.5/10… Expand

I didn't like the pacing - it felt as though there were a lot of idle moments and episodes could have been shorter. The abundance of sex scenes came across as unnecessary sometimes or even silly. I also failed to grow attached to most recurring characters, except for the two regulars Claire and Jamie; and even that took a fairly long time.
Now on the positive experiences: I think the 3 main actors did a good job, if not consistently. The art direction and the costumes made the series very pleasing to watch, but what really impressed me was the atmospheric and sometimes even catchy soundtrack. I liked the grounded approach of the fantasy side of the story, even though I still want answers for the questions they raised. Additionally, the two final episodes were very powerful in my opinion, however hard it was to watch.
Finally, I liked it and had a pretty good time watching. Would probably not re-watch anytime soon, though. 7.4/10… Expand

In the good way! The two stars, Mison and Beharie have a particularly strong chemistry; honestly, without that I would be a lot less inclined to watch this show. Otherwise, it's 13 episodes of headless shotgun-wielding fish-out-of-water buddy-cop supernatural-action fun.… Expand

I've seen all 20I would probably just be repeating everyone else, so there's probably no point... oh who cares! Here's what I think:
I've seen all 20 episodes twice, with the second watch being even more entertaining. The art is off the hook and Kristen Schaal provides the perfect voice for Mabel. The secrets of Gravity Falls start to unravel quite fast, especially in the second half of the season; and I'm sure there's much more where that came from. The links between episodes are considerably looser however (compared to the second season) but they're still in the background.
As a tight package of 20 episodic stories what it delivered was a potent dose of adventure and fun. However, it's not afraid to show emotions, too, as we get to explore the relationships between several characters, the bond Dipper and Mabel share being the most important. Of course it's not all drama, there's a ton of jokes in there.… Expand

Plus we got lots of character development and backstory: with episodes following Finn's growing-up, and stories exploring / explaining the relationship between Marceline and The Ice King, among other things.
A few, ambitious main story arcs were also introduced, such as the one focusing on Finn's arm and dad, respectively. while. Even between those arcs the episodes made an effort to maintain a sensible continuity.
And finally, the creators didn't shy away from experimenting this season either, with several episodes produced in a different style, and others focusing on new, weirder aspects of Ooo and its inhabitants.
Whether this means it was a good or a bad season, is of course subjective. Fortunately, I'm a huge fan of AT and I've gotten quite attached to its characters and the expansive lore. The fact that the show's tone and continuity became more serious over time only added to the experience for me, so I had a wonderful time with this fifth season as well.… Expand

The actors delivered perfectly, the story was thrilling up until the two final episodes where it got a little confusing. But the whole thing made me grin so many times and it was so fun that I had to give this season 9 point. And the final line was creepy and amazing at the same time, making the finale absolutely memorable.… Expand
