Period. A nice playable round of golf on the Xbox One. There are a zillion kinks and bugs to patch up and yes the graphics are seriously bad for next gen but the pros outweigh the cons.
Pros: Only golf sim on Xbox One, a course creator that has its flaws but some courses come off really well, difficult ( Anytime I see scores of -20 on an 18 hole round I immediately tune out knowing that some geeks have manipulated the games mechanics. In TGC Ive seen -20 but w/ constant new courses the idea of competition based on skill, rhythm and feel seems more plausible than other games.) You're supporting small guys!!!! F@#! The Big Boss Man....games for us by us. That's how TGC feels. Its "our" game. The Grateful Dead played some crappy concerts but if you dig hard enough you'll find gems that surpass what you thought live music could ever be. Same idea here. Go HB !
Cons: Ok the graphics kinda suck. Tons of bugs. The game doesn't feel polished. Course creator can stall, hard to get a feel for the competitions.
Verdict: An awesome game. I hope its a new trend. If we support pioneers like this we can help usher in a new era of games that will be far more satisfying. They actually need your support. The big corporate A Holes want your money. They'll keep rehashing the same crap as long as there is profit to be made. With these HB guys I get a feeling I'm supporting something meaningful. I'm giving it an 8...only because the graphics and bugs. Some solid patching would bring it to a 9.… Expand

Im generally more into sports sims like Tiger Woods or FIFA so I had to give this one a little longer to grow on me. It did eventually grow on me. It has some variables that are helping it out. Obviously its the only golf game available currently on Xbox One. Please EA Sports and HB Studios.....get your games out. Im dying for a golf sim. So comparing this to a golf sim would be like comparing an early James Bond film to a Tom Clancy novel. Again this helps the game. They have no restrictions or obligation to make this game realistic. Its cartoon golf BUT its good cartoon golf. The physics engine is pretty good and I play a lot of golf. The courses offered go from straightfoward to funny and even just stupid at times. It challenges you a little. Strategizing how to play holes is important but absurd at times. "If I can draw my 5 wood around this mountain and still get enough carry I should be able to find the green." Augusta National on TW14 this certainly is not but then that was never the intention. At the end of the day its still golf. All the gimmicks come out in the end as pretty fun and as long you dont take it too seriously I think any golf fan could have fun with it. The graphics are goregeous. I cant wait to see what EA does to Augusta or Pebble Beach w the XBox One.....the modes and amount of characters are pretty limiting. The replay value is average at best. Kinda like grabbing a cup of coffee at Seven Eleven because you cant make it to Starbucks......its caffeine but its not the first choice.… Expand

Im not a huge shooter or CoD fan but I find the genre entertaining. Its addictive. My only beef with this game is the inability to be matched with people at your own level. I suppose being thrown to the wolves makes one learn quickly but the option to ease in a little more comfortably would have been nice. I could care less about the lack of single player campaign or any kind of story mode. As if I care why people in the future are shooting each other on ficitional planets. The Titan concept is awesome and refreshing. Something a little different finally. Is the game worth a purchase ? Yes, IMO. The lack of titles on XBOX ONE is the primary reason. Would I have bought this game for the 360. Absolutely not. But again Im not a huge FPS guy. Im happy with the purchase and I enjoy playing it. One last thing Ive found nice, while I havent "explored" the game very thoroughly, I havent noticed EA trying to get in my wallet with DLC. The game seems fun and playable as is. Im sure its only a matter of time before maps and all that crap are "sold". By then I hope there are more titles on the system to choose from.… Expand

Its aWell first off this is the only football game available on Xbox One so that should make a purchasing decision pretty easy for some. Its a pretty awesome game in my opinion. The gameplay is smooth and responsive and the graphics are an upgrade from the 360 version. New camera angles were slightly awkward initially but after some getting used to they become an asset. I like how different grounds "feel" different. Some camera angles are steeper or closer to the pitch. In ways this makes your choice of a home ground in UT somewhat of a tactical decision too. I think its a great first effort on XBOX ONE for the series and if this early release sets the standard for future next gen FIFA games we should be in for some treats. There are flaws. The dependability of the online servers would recieve an "F" grade. I would like to see more tactical options and formations available in future releases. I'm limited to UT and Seasons mode so I cant comment on Career and the other stuff but this game has kept me entertained since I got it in December. Its now March and I still love it. Highly reccomend.… Expand
