SoRatchet and Clank has always been a game that looks like the sort of game i'd enjoy, however I've never really got around to playing it. So when I saw this game was out I decided to finally pick it up, the current gen of consoles has been crying out for a great platformer and I was hoping this was it.
Needless to say, it is exactly that, a great 3D platformer. Gorgeous graphics, intuitive and easy to pick up controls, fast fluid (for the most part) gameplay, plenty of weapons with unique abilities, all full upgradeable. And each level has some level of replayability to.
Having said that it does have a few minor downfalls for me. First and foremost is the flight controls. They are pretty clunky. The flight controls are on the left analogue rather than the right, and that's not something that can be changed in the options. On top of that they just feel more rigid than the rest. Everything else in the game feels so fluid and easy though, but because of that flight controls stick out as being weak.
Replay-ability/hidden areas. This game does have replay-ability, there's the weapons to upgrade, the golden screws to collect and challenge mode. However my issue here is even the 'hidden areas' are marked on your map. The golden screws are the only real element of discovery within a level, and even then they're pretty easy to find on the most part.
On the whole this game really is a great 3D platformer, and the best one i've played in a very long time on a non-nintendo console. It's just the points mentioned above for me that stop this from getting a 9/10 but it's a very solid 8.… Expand

Anywho onto the actual review.
Destiny's genre is something very hard to define, its like Halo crossed with borderlands, crossed with mass effect and some MMO type stuff thrown in too. For me that results in a beautiful mix of genres I love.
- Graphics are pretty solid, very nice background artwork seen in the form of skies and mountain ranges.
- Solid controls easy to get used to
- Rewarding upgrade system and levelling
- Good variety of stuff to do (PvP, solo, co-op strike missions)
I am absolutely hooked on this game and am hoping to be fulfilled with the end game too. If any of the games mentioned above that are similar interest you, definitely check this out.
But most importantly, GIVE IT TIME. Play at least 5-6 hours before you judge it, explore a bit and see what is out there for you to do.… Expand

But everything from the art style to the simplicity of the mechanics is brilliant. Of course the mechanics are simple on the surface but it will take a good amount of time invested to get good at the game.
The game is probably a 9.5 for me but rounding to a 10 because judging from a lot of these comments people just don't know how to play. It is most definitely possible to build a good deck and have fun and climb the ranks without buying loads of packs.… Expand

So what did I make of this, I'll startHuge player of HD and Evolution, sinking many many hours into the game competing with a friend of mine. So what did I make of this, I'll start with the good:
- Good amount of tracks to compete for those platinum medals on
- Now every track has 3 challenges as well, giving even more replayability
- Quad bike, with 4 wheel drive is a good new addition and varies things up a bit
- Skills is a great new addition adding a further new challenge to the game
The not so good:
- Graphics are good, but on Xbox One have a few jagged edges, a little disappointing but this is a £15 game thats all about the gameplay, I'm not too worried.
- Skill moves are quite hard to get right, they're done on the right analogue stick and maybe I need more time to get used to them but I'm not sure exactly how to perform each trick.
I couldn't tell you about the volume as I usually just have it really low and play music on itunes.
Overall if you're a fan of the trials series I would more than happily recommend you get this one too, if you're not then give it a go, its a fantastic little game, and if you like it go back and buy HD and evolution, they're still well worth their price tag.… Expand

Art style is beautiful, music accompanies it perfectly and of course the best part is the gameplay. If you've played origins this is essentially the same gameplay but with a few new things thrown in. The best thing about this game as well is the replayability and the amount there is to do. There's characters to unlock, creatures to unlock, levels to try and 100% (collect all lums, find all the people who need rescuing and doing the time trial), daily challenges, weekly challenges, a fun little mini game and you can also unlock a load of levels from the origins game.
If you like platformers, quite simply, get it.… Expand

I wasn't originally planning on getting it after being left hugely disappointed with most wanted but I am actually really enjoying it. To start with, upgrades are finally back, not to the extent of forza, not even to the extent of NFS Underground 2, but they are at least here. And progression is also back, no more of this if you find a car laying around you keep it nonsense. Now you start off in a rank 1 car and as you progress through the game you unlock ranks 2, 3 and 4 each with a few cars in each rank. Visuals are upgradeable with paint jobs and decals and performance upgrades come in 5 categories, strength, durability, control, acceleration and top speed, all with 5 levels of upgrades. You pay for upgrades with speed points earnt by playing races, or driving around causing havoc, however, get busted by the cops before you get back to a safehouse and you lose your speed points. The gameplay is very much arcade, don't expect realism, just expect high speed entertainment.
The game however does have a few downfalls and here they are:
Limited car roster. Only about 20-30 cars as a racer and the same again as a cop. Each set is of different cars too, why not have all cars in the game available to both?
The game would a lot more viable if instead of calling the upgrades "top speed" they actually had it listed as engine, drivetrain etc. like they used to.
Apart from that I am really genuinely enjoying this game. As I said, go into this looking to have some fun and not looking for realism and i'm sure you'll have a blast.… Expand

What I mean by this is the basic mechanics from the 360 are the same, but everything is more polished, it feels more smooth and less clunky. The graphics are a huge improvement and the menus are no longer slow (was hugely frustrating on 360). Ultimately if you are a fifa fan and own an xbox one, get it. Some people giving it negative reviews because tournament mode is gone, honestly I couldn't care less, i'd take the improved gameplay over that any day.… Expand
