Learn how to turn off the in game voice "chat" and put yourself in a mode where you can't be randomly ganked as soon as possible. This isn't all that intuitive as the interface leaves something to be desired.
The levels load slowly even with and SSD, good internet connection, and a powerful rig. Snore.
The game download, both the initial and subsequent patching, is very slow. The game isn't stable at all. You may run into crashes which requires that you manually run checksums on the games files, delete bad files, and re-download parts of the game. This isn't professional.
If you want a fun sandbox game with good coop game play, go with the Saints Row series. If you want a game to gank noobs and trash talk with 12 year olds, this is your game. All imo of course.… Expand

Guys dying when you are offline unless you conform your real life schedule to the game
Later stages of the game are annoying e.g., Rad Roaches spawning in multiple rooms , attacking in waves , and killing entire rooms full of dwellers.
Poor controls being annoying early on, become game breaking later during Rad Roach attacks.

I love the main character andCLOWN SHOES -- Rookie mistakes and technical glitches keep this great game from meeting its full potential.
I love the main character and atmosphere of this game. It is a great great game in many ways. I totally enjoyed the first big zone, White Orchard, after being able to remap my movement controls.
The game suffers from trying to shoe horn "open world" into a level based system, which punishes you for going into the wrong area. You can go anywhere you want [wink] but if you go anywhere but a very narrow area in a very limited zone progression, you will get squashed. We won't give you a clear hint where to go. [/wink]. Skulls everywhere in Velen. "Oh hey, we are still totally open world."
The controls are weak. Thank goodness they just patched in allowing you to remap your movement controls. Welcome to the 21st century Red Studio.
Way too much crap to pick up and sort through with a poor interface.
Patch your game. Update your drivers (catch 22, the drivers you need to play the game are buggy and cause issues in other areas). Save (very) often. Read hints on where to go and not go after White Orchard. Save often.… Expand

FC4 is an open world shooter with emergent behaviors, and is generally fun to play.
This game seems more like an expansion of FC3 rather than a brand new game. If you loved FC3, want more of the same, then FC4 may be for you If you have friends to play coop shooters with that have FC4, FC4 may be an even better choice.
Needless to say, if you didn't like FC3 you are probably not going to like this game.… Expand

However, Funcompetence is in place. TSW has bugs that will never be resolved, rough edges, BS un-fun quests, and the need to stop and grind to make progress in the story. Also, the game doesn't have enough new players to make it easy to find groups for new players who don't bring their own friends.
If you are looking for a non-fantasy MMO with good story that you don't mind playing solo, then TSW may be for you… Expand

Like other paid content, are Valve and Bethesda going to provide QA, oversight, and ensure continued support for mods?
Why change the implicit agreement e.g., free mods, with gamers who have already purchased Skyrim?
The answers to these questions demonstrate that the actions of Valve and Bethesda are disingenuous at best.… Expand

Trion developers are evidently Armchair Wannabe developers.
Trion is not staffed to support multiple games, I would avoid all of them. It is only a matter of time until a game you bought and paid money and time for will go belly up and become unplayable.
***Here were my original thoughts before recent intermittent network issues became widespread and long term:
This is a solid mmofps with good shooting mechanics that is generally fun to play. You get a vehicle right out of the gate that allows you to move around in the large open world. The game allows you to easily play with friends regardless of level (hello auto scaling and port to player), which I wish more mmo games allowed. There is a huge variety of weapons and many options for customization of weapons and skills. Think of this as a borderlands mmofps, without the humor. The crafting and inventory interface could definitely be improved.… Expand

The game draws you in at first until you realize that sooner or later the random generator will get you and then you have to start again from the beginning. Winning or losing via a toss of a coin or roll of a dice does not make a good game. There are _many_ better made games out there that are actually fun to play.… Expand
