Average User Score: 8.0Jul 16, 2013Alan Wake is a flawed but still enjoyable game.
The production values are up there with the best the story is good but the mechanics do let it down a bit having to shine a torch at the undead to make them shootable whilst running out of batteries with the undead coming at you from all angles is quite frustrating
It did keep me playing to the end but the experience wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been,… Expand
Average User Score: 8.0Jul 10, 2013When I started playing I wasn't overly impressed but the more I played the more I enjoyed this game.
The graphics at first seemed just, OK but are actually pretty impressive in a non obvious way
Game play is challenging at times but you always know you can achieve it it never seems impossible.
The dialog is a bit cheesy and a bit repetitive but overall a fun game especially at the price you will find it for.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.5Jun 12, 2013I counted the other day that I've completed at least 22 Xbox games' single player campaigns and also played many other games I haven't bothered finishing
Far Cry 3 is in the top 3 games I have played
It's an open world FPS and will take up a lot of your time very good value for money
Great main story with a vast amount of other content including taking out military bases by stealh or all guns blazing
A good leveling up system and much more to keep you busy
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I can't understand the few negative reviews on this site
If you buy one FPS this generation make it this one… Expand
Average User Score: 7.8Mar 23, 2013Once I started playing this game I played nothing else. Played 3 hours a day for over week until completion.
Is it a GTA clone? Well, yes but I found it a better game GTA shooting is very clunky where as the shooting in Sleeping Dogs is a lot better executed.
Also you don't use guns all that much and rely on hand to hand combat which is similar, but better than Batman Arkham Asylum City
Right now this game can be picked up for a very reasonable price and is well worth it if you like games like GTA, Saints Row or Red Dead Redemption… Expand
Average User Score: 8.8Nov 11, 2012This game is amazing. The level of detail is unbelievable. Great story, graphics and game play.
However I did not think that at first - I am not alone in having trouble very early on during a level called Sibling Rivalry - there is a race - but in fact all you have to do is run forwards and straight up the side of a building. Very easy when you know how.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.8Oct 17, 2012Good - but very over-rated. Most reviewers have wet their pants at this game. Many reviews claiming you will play it through 4-5 times just to see what happens if you play differently. Well I won't be. Any one thinking about buying - wait till a price drop. It's worth playing but I feel disappointed having paid full price. Had it 5 days and nearly finished. Will be trading it for Borderlands 2 any day now.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.0Jul 8, 2012You know those Jason Statham movies? You know - Crank? The Transporter? - well none of them will win any Oscars. But they are all good, fun, enjoyable action movies. Well - Prototype 2 is a bit like that. There are better games. But the game is so much fun to play. The game is also 'similar' to Batman Arkham City - open world environment, running, climbing (or in this case running) up walls and gliding through the cityscape. Getting into semi button bashing fights. Missions etc etc.
Batman is probably more polished. So this might be it's bruitish, loveable rogue of a brother.
It's a bit repetative - but this could be levelled at a lot of games.
I picked this up 2nd hand for £20 and I see Amazon have it new for £25. Well worth it if you just fancy a bit of mindless action.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.6Apr 29, 2012There has been some criticism of this game regarding the lack of story and the idea it is simply bland characters asking you to go do a task.
Sure - that's fairly true but there is still a very good game here. Going from task to task has an enjoyable driving section which breaks up the FPS levels. The FPS levels are all very enjoyable with superb graphics and enemies that seem to have some decent AI. Also when you shoot an enemy they react how you would expect - shoot them in the leg, they limp etc.
I bought this for £7 new and is so well worth the money - at full price maybe the earlier levels would be a bit off putting - but stick with it and the later levels are excellent.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.7Apr 28, 2012Some reviewers are saying this ain't a Ridge Racer game - I disagree - to me the key element of a Ridge Racer game was the drifting - which is the key dynamic of this game.
OK so it's been brought up to date with nitro (earned by drifting) and destruction of the environment etc
Also some reviewers are saying how hard drifting is - I took to it quite quickly.
If you prefer arcade racers like Split Second and Blur rather than realistic games like Forza - give it a go. I picked it up for £25 which is a bargain.
The game is quite hard - most games let you win the first few races - not this one - took me a few goes to win the first race - but that's part of the games charm. You know if you lose it's down to your skill level.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.7Apr 8, 2012I was never a big fan of the other Splinter Cell games. Found them a bit clunky - all that split legged climbing up wall nonsense. Conviction was quite a bit different - and all the better for it. Some fan boys of the series might not like it but I did. This was one of my early purchases. The game was so good I played nothing but this - then on completion on medium skill, played it again on hard.… Expand
