Rather than variety, everything in the game is cookie cutter and boring. No more intuitive combat system with criticals, no more stealth viability, and goodbye to ranged in general. How do you take a game where ranged meant ranged, and make it so bows and spells only reach a couple feet further than a spear swing? Oh right- you make it a cookie cutter WoW clone.
The trading system is obtuse on PC, but in ps4 with zero chat support it's downright atrocious. How do you make a game where trading relies on more personal interactions, and not have any form of chat box. At least on PC you could reliably trade. Oh, but they're adding a chat box- for a companion app. Why!? Keep in game features IN GAME, what is this Destiny?
The store is one of the worst parts. Items have menus and sub menus, sometimes, but it's unreliable, and the confirm buy button is the same as the 'try on' wardrobe feature, making it painfully easy to lose real money due to lag or double pressing- problems the game is now famous for. No store should be this bad- if you buy something in an mmo like SWTOR on their shop, it goes to a store 'mailbox' where you can choose to refund it immediately, completely eradicating the possibility of errors.
It gets worse though- if you do make an error due to their poorly made store- they REFUSE TO REFUND YOU. You can put in a ticket detailing the mistake and they will not refund the crowns spent- it's not even you asking for your money back, but the currency you buy with money. That's downright shady, and perhaps the worst customer service I have ever seen in a AAA title.
The game is buggy, you start to suffer more and more loading time issues the higher level you get- not unlike Skyrim, but in this case there's really no excuse.
The combat itself is clunky and simple, making it grow very, very boring very, very quickly. I'll give some credit to a more in depth crafting system.
If you want a very poorly made WoW clone with atrocious customer support and none of the features that make MMOs more convenient and tolerable- this game's for you. If you were hoping for Skyrim online, this game is absolutely nothing like it. At least the PC version has the option for mods, and the social experience is there.
Graphically- look at the glass armour for my opinion on this. It's not even remotely green, did Zenimax even look at the source material? It might be an ok game if they hadn't focused on making everything look as bland and ugly as possible. This is the ps4, I don't care if it's an mmo it shouldn't look this bad. The worst part is the animations- I haven't seem anything this stiff since WAR, and that game fell apart in a year.
I feel pretty generous giving this game a 1/10. It's playable, though not enjoyable, it might get a 2 or 3 but I always take away marks when customer service is this bad and their poorly designed game literally costs people money that they don't even entertain refunding. May there be better parts later on? Perhaps, but after I reach double digit hours on a game, if there's not a single thing worth praising I'm not going to keep going in the hopes of finding it.… Expand

This is a building simulation which is ultimately the most overrated game of the decade. Graphics, controls, and UI are all absolutely horrid- but it's an indie sandbox, so naturally that's enough for those who hate anything made by a big company to love it. If this game was made by EA, every person praising it would instead be talking about how horrible it is. Too bad this era's of gamers are more interested in gaming politics than they are in actual games.

It's not that hard, in theory- but the controls are bad. Yes, yes, we get it- on the NES, the controls were generally terrible and that resulted in many of the games being insanely hard. But even Super Mario 3 managed to get out of that rut by the end of the console's lifespan.
Now, if you appreciate playing a game that could have come out on the NES- by all means, you'll probably like it. Just be wary that this isn't just NES challenging, but has most of the things about NES that were bad too- like controls.

I'd like to say this is the third time this game has come out- but considering black ops doesn't add anything new I'm starting to lose track of the number of times this exact game has been released. If you combined all the MW and BO together you'd get a campaign the size of a normal shooter- which already have short campaigns to begin with.
Oh, but nobody gets CoD for the campaign, it's for the pvp! Yes- true enough, and guess what- MW1 still did it better. I have to give them props though- they've found an amazing way to milk suckers out of their money with zero effort; and look at how games everywhere are becoming crap as they try to emulate this money for nothing style of developing.

No, I guess not- too bad nobody actually reviews the actual game they're playing these days.
The game is tough, is full of zombies, is not nearly as nice with herbs or ammo as 4 and 5 were, and zombies take multiple headshots to kill even on lower difficulties. Play on a higher difficulty and with the screen brightness where the game suggests- and you'll spend a lot of the game creeping forward praying you don't get mauled, or even running away from swarms when your ammo runs low. The game is considerably more survival oriented than 4 and 5 were as a result.
As many have said, it mixes action, survival horror and shooter- so for those hoping the game would just be one thing they'll be disappointed to find this isn't RE2 or Silent Hill. You also have to be much more careful than in RE4 and 5, while also not getting the luxury of time those games offered to search for treasure in all areas.
With three moderately sized adventures, you end up with a longer game as well. Of course, if you're a die hard hater of action games this probably won't be your Resident Evil. I wouldn't say this is the best in the series, but it definitely is far better than most of the people giving it 0s on the day it came out before they even tried it are saying.… Expand
